14. கர்ப்பக் கிரியை

உயிர்கள் இவ்வுலகில் பிறவி எடுப்பதற்கு முன், முந்தைய பிறவியில் தம்மைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்திருந்த இருபத்தைந்து தத்துவங்களை ஒன்றாகச் சேர்த்து,

Before souls take birth in this world, he gathers together the twenty-five principles that had separated from them in their previous birth,

ஆதியாக இருக்கும் நமது ஆருயிரான இறைவன் அவற்றைக் கொண்டு உயிரை உருவாக்குகின்றான்.

and the God who is our own dear life, the primal one, forms the soul out of them.

உடலுடன் கூடிய அந்த உயிர் இவ்வுலகில் எவ்வாறு இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதை அறிந்து, கரு உருவாகும்போதே அதற்கு ஏற்றவாறு,

Knowing how that soul, joined to a body, must live in this world, and shaping it accordingly while the embryo itself is forming,

கர்ப்பப் பையின் உள்ளிருந்தே உடலுடன் கூடிய உயிரை உருவாக்கி அருளுகின்றான் இறைவன்.

the Lord, from within the womb itself, forms and grants the soul joined with a body.

தியானத்தின் மூலம் உயிர்கள் அறியக்கூடிய ஆறு ஆதார சக்கரங்களில் முதலாவதான மூலாதாரத்திற்கு மேல் இருக்கும் சுவாதிட்டான சக்கரத்தின் அருகே, மூச்சுக்காற்றின் வெப்பமும் பித்த நீரும் கலந்திருக்கும் கர்ப்பப் பைக்குள், செக்கச் சிவந்த சிறு கால்களோடு தலையையும் சேர்த்து உடலை வைத்திருக்கும் கருவை,

Within the womb, near the Swadhishthana centre that lies above the Muladhara, the first of the six support-centres that souls can come to know through meditation, where the heat of the breath and the bile-fluid mingle, the embryo takes shape with its body, its small ruddy legs and its head joined,

உடலில் இருக்கும் வெப்பமும் நீரும் அதைச் சிதைத்துவிடாதபடி பொறுமையோடு உயிருக்கு உயிராய் உடனிருந்து காக்கும் இறைவன்,

and the Lord, patiently present as life to that life, guards it so that the heat and the fluid within the body do not destroy it,

அந்தக் கரு வெளியே போக வழி தேடும்போது இன்னும் வளர்ச்சி பெற்று முழுமையடைந்த பின்னரே வெளிவர வேண்டும் என்று அதற்கான தேவையாகப் பத்து மாதங்களைக் காலக்கெடுவாக வைத்து,

and when that embryo seeks a way to come forth, he sets ten months as the term it needs, so that it may come forth only after growing further and reaching completeness,

அந்தக் காலக்கெடு முடியும்வரை கருவையும் காத்து, அதைத் தாங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் தாய்க்கும் அதன் பாரம் பாதிக்காதபடி பாதுகாத்து அருளுகின்றான் இறைவன்.

and until that term is complete he guards the embryo and also protects the mother who bears it, so that its weight does not harm her, and grants this by his grace.

ஆணும் பெண்ணும் சிற்றின்பத்தில் மகிழ்ந்து கூடுகின்ற போதே, அவர்களின் முன் ஜென்ம வினைகளாலும் புதிதாகப் பிறக்கும் உயிரின் முன் ஜென்ம வினைகளாலும், இவர்களுக்கு இந்த உயிர் பிறக்க வேண்டும் என்பதை இறைவன் முடிவு செய்கிறான்.

Even as a man and woman join in joy and delight in that pleasure, the Lord decides, by the force of their former-birth deeds and the former-birth deeds of the soul about to be newly born, that this soul must be born to them.

அந்த உயிரினால் பெற்றவர்களும், பெற்றவர்களால் அந்த உயிரும் அடையும் துன்பத்திற்குக் காரணமாக இருக்கும் பாசம் எனும் துயரமாகிய பந்தத்தால் அவர்களைக் கட்டி வைக்கின்றான்.

He binds them with the bond of attachment, the sorrow called love, which becomes the cause of the suffering the parents receive through that soul and the soul receives through its parents.

அந்த உயிர் இவ்வுலகில் எத்தனைக் காலம் வாழ வேண்டும் என்பதையும், அதன் பண்புகளையும், வாழ்க்கை முறையையும் முன்பே முடிவு செய்து,

He decides in advance how long that soul must live in this world, what its nature will be, and what manner of life it will lead,

ஆணும் பெண்ணும் அன்பாகச் சேர்ந்த காலத்திலேயே, அதற்கு ஏற்றவாறு கருவை அமைத்து முடிக்கின்றான் இறைவன்.

and at that very time when the man and woman unite in love, he shapes and completes the embryo to match all of this.

இருபத்தைந்து தத்துவங்களும் ஒன்றாகச் சேர்ந்து,

The twenty-five principles come together as one,

ஆணும் பெண்ணும் சேரும்போது உருவாகும் கருமுட்டை கருவாக மாறி,

and when man and woman unite, the resulting egg turns into an embryo,

அதுவே ஆண், பெண் என்கிற இரண்டுவித உருவங்களாகவும் மாறுகின்ற உண்மையை,

and that very embryo changes into the two kinds of forms called male and female, a truth

பிறவி இல்லாத நிலையை அடைந்த ஞானிகள் கண்டு உணர்ந்திருக்கின்றார்களே தவிர, மற்றவர்கள் அறியவில்லை.

that only the sages who have reached the state beyond rebirth have seen and realized; others do not know it.

ஆணும் பெண்ணும் சேர்ந்த போது, இருபத்தைந்து தத்துவங்களில் ஐந்து புலன்களைத் தவிர்த்து, ஆணிடமிருந்து ஐந்து ஞானேந்திரியங்களும் ஐந்து கன்மேந்திரியங்களும் சேர்ந்து,

When man and woman unite, of the twenty-five principles, leaving aside the five senses, the five organs of knowledge and the five organs of action come from the man,

பெண்ணின் கருப்பைக்குள் பனிக்குடம் போன்ற நீரில் உருவான கருமுட்டைக்குள், ஐந்து பூதங்களும் நான்கு அந்தக்கரணங்களும் சேர்ந்து கருவாகின்றது.

and within the egg that has formed in the fluid like a dewdrop within the woman's womb, the five elements and the four inner faculties join to become the embryo.

அதன்பின் உருவம் பெறும்போது ஐந்து புலன்களும் சேர்ந்துவிட,

After that, when it takes shape and the five senses join it as well,

மீதி இருக்கும் புருடன் மட்டும் அந்தக் கருவுடம்பின் நெற்றி உச்சியின் உள்ளே சென்று ஒளிந்துகொண்டது.

the remaining Purusha alone goes and hides itself within the crown of the forehead of that embryo's body.

பூக்களின் மகரந்தத்தில் கலந்த காற்று உலகத்தில் பூவின் நறுமணத்தைப் பரப்பிக் காற்றிலேயே தங்க வைக்கின்றது;

The wind that mingles with the pollen of flowers spreads the fragrance of the flower through the world and holds it there in the air,

அந்தக் காற்றை மற்ற உயிர்கள் சுவாசிக்கும்போது பூவின் நறுமணத்தை நுகரச் செய்கின்றது.

and when other living beings breathe that air, it makes them take in the flower's fragrance.

இதைப்போலவே, தாயின் கருப்பைக்குள் இருக்கும் கருவினுள் புகுந்து அதன் உயிரில் கலந்திருக்கும் தனஞ்சயன் என்னும் காற்று,

In the same way, the wind called Dhananjaya, which enters the embryo within the mother's womb and mingles with the life within it,

குறிப்பிட்ட காலத்தில் குழந்தையாகப் பிறந்து முதன்முதலில் கூவி அழும்போது வெளிவந்து, குழந்தையை முதன்முதலில் சுவாசிக்கச் செய்கிறது.

comes forth when, at the appointed time, the child is born and cries out for the first time, and makes the child breathe for the very first time.

கரு உருவாகும்போது, அதனுடன் செல்கின்ற எட்டுவிதமான சூட்சும உருவங்களும், பத்துவிதமான வாயுக்களும், எட்டுவிதமான குணங்களும்,

When the embryo forms, it carries with it the eight kinds of subtle forms, the ten kinds of vital airs and the eight kinds of qualities,

இவற்றுள் மூழ்கியிருக்கும் ஆன்மாவும், அது உயிராக உடலெடுக்கும்போது உருவாகும் ஒன்பது வாயில்களும்,

the soul immersed within all of these, and the nine gates of the body that come to be when it takes on a body as life,

உடலின் மூலாதாரத்தில் இருக்கும் நாகமாகிய குண்டலினியும், பன்னிரண்டு அங்குலம் (கழுத்துக்குக் கீழே எட்டு அங்குலம் மனிதர்களுக்கும், கழுத்துக்கு மேலே நான்கு அங்குலம் யோகிகளுக்கும்) ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் மூச்சுக் காற்றும்,

the serpent power called Kundalini that lies at the base of the body, and the breath that runs the length of twelve inches, eight inches below the neck for ordinary people and four inches above the neck for yogis,

இவை அனைத்தையும் அடக்கி ஆளும் இறைவன் தனது அருளால் பாதுகாத்து வழிநடத்தாமல் இருந்தால், கருவில் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை இழிவான பிறவியாகவே ஆகிவிடும்.

If the Lord, who governs and holds all of these, does not guide and protect it by his grace, the child born of that embryo turns out a degraded birth.

ஆணின் சுக்கிலம் பெண்ணின் சுரோணிதத்தை எதிர்த்துச் செல்லும்போது பிறக்கும் குழந்தை உருத்திரனை ஒத்த தாமச குணம் உடையதாக இருக்கும்.

When the man's seed goes against the woman's blood, the child born will have a dark, Rudra-like tamasic nature.

பெண்ணின் சுரோணிதத்தை ஆணின் சுக்கிலம் எதிர்த்துச் செல்லும்போது பிறக்கும் குழந்தை திருமாலை ஒத்த சத்துவ குணம் உடையதாக இருக்கும்.

When the woman's blood is met by the man's seed going against it, the child born will have a pure, Vishnu-like sattvic nature.

ஆணின் சுக்கிலமும் பெண்ணின் சுரோணிதமும் சமமாக எதிர்த்து இணையும்போது பிறக்கும் குழந்தை பிரம்மனை ஒத்த இராசத குணம் உடையதாக இருக்கும்.

When the man's seed and the woman's blood meet and oppose each other equally, the child born will have a Brahma-like rajasic nature.

ஆணும் பெண்ணும் சமமான இன்பத்தில் இணைந்திருந்தால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை மாபெரும் அரசனைப் போல ஆளும் தன்மையைக் கொண்டிருக்கும்.

And when man and woman are united in equal pleasure, the child born will have the bearing of one who rules like a mighty king.

எத்தனையோ பிறவிகளை எடுத்து முடிந்தபின், இந்தப் பிறவியில் வினைப் பயனால் ஆண் பெண் இருவரும் சந்தித்து இன்பத்தில் கலக்கின்றனர்.

After passing through countless earlier births, in this birth, by the force of past deeds, a man and a woman come to meet and mingle in pleasure.

அவர்களது உருவங்களிலிருந்தும் அவர்களது முன்னோர்களின் உருவங்களிலிருந்தும் பலவிதமான அம்சங்களை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, அந்த அம்சங்களின் சாயலிலேயே உருவம் கொண்டு கரு உருவாகின்றது.

Taking on many different traits from their own forms and from the forms of their ancestors, the embryo takes shape in the likeness of those traits and comes into being.

ஆணும் பெண்ணும் இன்பத்தில் கலந்தபின் பெண்ணிடம் உருவான அந்தக் கரு புதிதாக உருவானதாக அனைவராலும் அறியப்பட்டாலும், அந்தக் கரு உருவாகுவதற்கு முன்பே இந்த ஆணுக்கும் இந்தப் பெண்ணுக்குமே இந்தக் கரு உருவாக வேண்டும் என்பது வினைப் பயனால் முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது.

Even though everyone takes the embryo that forms in the woman after the two unite in pleasure to be something newly come into being, it was in fact decided, before that embryo ever formed, by the force of past deeds, that it was this man and this woman to whom it must come.

இதை உணராத ஆணும் பெண்ணும் மாயையில் ஒருவரோடு ஒருவர் கலந்து கரு உருவாகக் காரணமாகி, அந்தக் கருவுக்கும் தங்களது மாயையோடு சேர்த்துத் தங்களது பலவித குணங்களையும் கொடுத்துவிடுகின்றனர்.

The man and the woman, not realizing this, unite with each other under maya and become the cause of the embryo's forming, and along with their own maya they hand over their own many qualities to that embryo as well.

கரு உருவாகும்போது முதலில் அது தனித்து கேவல நிலையில் இருக்கும்.

When the embryo first comes into being, it exists alone, in the bare state called kevala.

அதன்பிறகு மாயை தன் தத்துவங்களைக் கருவோடு சேர்க்கும்போது, அதுவரை துரிய நிலையில் உறக்கத்தில் இருந்த கரு அந்த நிலையிலிருந்து மாறி விழித்துக்கொண்டு நினைவு தோன்ற ஆரம்பிக்கும்.

After that, when maya joins its principles to the embryo, the embryo, which until then lay asleep in the turiya state, changes out of that state, awakens, and thought begins to arise in it.

நினைவு தோன்றியபின், அந்தக் கருவின் முற்பிறவிகளிலிருந்து தொடர்ந்துவரும் வினைப்பயனால் வரும் கன்மத்துடன் அசுத்த மாயையின் ஏழுவித காரியங்களும் சேர்ந்து,

Once thought has arisen, the karma that continues to come from the fruits of its past deeds through earlier births joins with the seven workings of impure maya,

மொத்தம் எட்டுவித மாயைகளை அந்தக் கரு பெற்றுவிடும். இதுவே கருவுடன் மாயைகள் சேரும் முறைமை என்று தூய்மையான வேதங்கள் சொல்கின்றன.

and together they make up the eight kinds of maya that the embryo comes to bear. The pure Vedas declare that this is the manner in which maya joins with the embryo.

உயிர்கள் தாம் ஆசைப்பட்ட இன்பத்தை அடைய வேண்டும் என்று, எலும்புகளை இணைத்து நரம்புகளால் வரிசையாகக் கட்டி வைத்து,

So that living beings may attain the pleasure they long for, he joined bones together and bound them tight with rows of nerves,

சிவந்த இரத்தத்தை வைத்துத் தோலால் அழகாக மூடி, திருத்தமாகச் செய்யப்பட்ட இந்த வீடாகிய உடலுக்கு,

set red blood within, covered it beautifully with skin, and made this house that is the body, fashioned to perfection,

உயிர் கொடுத்த இறைவனின் கருணையை எண்ணி,

thinking of the compassion of the Lord who gave life to it,

அவன் மீது பொங்கிய நட்பினால், அவன் ஒருவனை மட்டுமே அன்பினால் தேடி அடைகின்றேன்.

and through the friendship that surges up for him, I seek and reach that one alone, in love.

நிலவைப் போன்ற வெள்ளை நிறத்தில், சூரியனைப் போன்ற பிரகாசிக்கும் ஒளி உடலாக இருக்கும் இறைவன்,

The Lord, whose body is a light shining bright as the sun and white as the moon,

தாயின் சூரிய கலை (வலது நாசி) மூச்சுக்காற்றின் மூலம் இதமான சூட்டையும், சந்திர கலை (இடது நாசி) மூச்சுக்காற்றின் மூலம் இதமான குளிர்ச்சியையும் கொண்டு, கருவின் உடலோடு கலந்து எங்கும் பரவி நின்று,

carries a comforting warmth through the mother's solar breath at the right nostril and a comforting coolness through her lunar breath at the left nostril, and mingling with the embryo's body he stands spread through it entirely,

தாயின் அடிவயிற்றில் உணவைச் செரிப்பதற்காக சூடாக உருவாகும் நெருப்பினாலும் நீராலும் கரு ஒருவித பாதிப்பும் அடையாமல் இருக்கும்படி காத்து நின்று,

guarding it so that it takes no harm from the heat and the fluid that arise in the mother's lower belly to digest her food,

குழந்தை எந்த விதமாக வளர வேண்டுமோ அப்படியெல்லாம் வளர வைத்து, குழந்தை பிறக்கும்வரை காத்து அருளுகின்றான்.

and making the child grow in whatever way it should grow, he watches over it in grace until the child is born.

ஆன்மா தான் இருக்கும் உடலின் மூலம் அனுபவிக்க வேண்டிய வினைகளை அனுபவித்து முடிக்கும்போதே, அதன் அடுத்த பிறவியை எடுக்க உதவும் பலவிதமான வழிகளை இறைவன் உருவாக்கி விடுகின்றான்.

The very moment the soul finishes experiencing, through the body it dwells in, the deeds it must experience, the Lord already shapes the many paths that will carry it to its next birth.

ஆன்மா இருந்த உடல் இறந்தபின், சுற்றத்தாரால் நீராட்டப்பட்டுச் சுடுகாட்டிற்குச் சுட்டெரிக்க எடுத்துச் செல்லப்படும்போதே,

After the body in which it dwelt dies, even as the relatives bathe it and carry it away to be burnt at the cremation ground,

அதிலிருந்து வெளிப்பட்ட ஆன்மாவை, இன்னும் அனுபவிக்க வேண்டிய பலவிதமான வினைகளான பந்த பாசத்தால் கட்டி, புதிய கருவாக உருவாக்கிக் கர்ப்பப் பைக்குள் வைக்கின்றான்.

he binds the soul that has come out of it with the bond of attachment, the many further deeds it still has to undergo, forms it into a new embryo, and places it within a womb.

அங்கே பெண்ணின் அடிவயிற்றில் இருக்கும் நெருப்பினாலும் நீராலும் அது பாதிக்கப்படாதபடிக் காப்பாற்றி அருளுகின்றான் இறைவன்.

And there he protects it and keeps it, by his grace, from harm at the hands of the heat and the fluid in the woman's lower belly.

ஆணின் சுக்கிலமும் பெண்ணின் சுரோணிதமும் சேர்ந்து சிவப்பு நிறமான கருமுட்டையாக வளர்கின்றன.

The man's seed and the woman's blood together grow into a red egg.

இதற்காக ஆணின் சுக்கிலம் எட்டு விரற்கடை அளவும், பெண்ணின் சுரோணிதம் நான்கு விரற்கடை அளவும் பயணிக்கின்றது.

For this, the man's seed travels a distance of eight finger-widths, and the woman's blood travels a distance of four finger-widths.

இப்படிப் பயணிக்கும் அனைத்தும் கருமுட்டையாக வளர்வதில்லை; இறைவன் அருளால் பிழைத்த ஒன்றோ, அல்லது சமயத்தில் பலவும் ஒன்றாகவே கருமுட்டையாக வளர்கின்றது.

Not everything that travels so grows into an egg; it is one that survives by the Lord's grace, or at times several together, that grow as one into an egg.

அப்படி உருவான கருமுட்டை உடல் எட்டு ஜாண் அளவிற்கு வளர்கிறது.

And the body that forms from that egg grows to a length of eight spans.

ஆண் பெண் இருவரின் இன்பத்தில் உருவான கருவின் மூலமாக,

Through the embryo that forms in the pleasure of the man and the woman together,

ஆன்மாவை உயிராக உருவாக்கும் கொடைத் தொழிலைப் புரிந்து அருளுகின்றான் புனிதனான இறைவன்.

the holy Lord performs the act of giving by which he shapes the soul into life.

கருவிற்குள் இருபத்தைந்து தத்துவங்களையும் சேர்த்து,

Bringing together the twenty-five principles within the embryo,

ஆண் பெண்ணின் இன்பத்தின் விளைவாக அங்கே ஒரு சினைமுட்டையைச் செய்து அருளுகின்றான்.

he forms, out of the pleasure of the man and the woman, a single fertilized egg there, and grants it by his grace.

பெண்ணின் கருப்பைக்குள் உருவாகும் குழந்தையின் உடலினுள், மாயையால் ஒன்றும் அறியாத ஐந்துவகைப் புலன்களும் சேர்ந்து,

Within the body of the child forming in the woman's womb, the five senses, which through maya know nothing on their own, join together,

உடலோடு வளர்ந்து உடலோடு இறக்கின்றன.

grow along with the body, and perish along with the body.

அதுபோலவே, அண்டசராசரங்கள் அனைத்திலும் நிறைந்திருக்கும் இறைவனின் நாதத் தத்துவத்திலிருந்து உருவாகிய ஆன்மா கருவுக்குள் உயிரோடு பிறந்து உடலோடு இறந்தபின்,

In the same way, the soul, which arises from the Lord's Nada principle that fills every world and being, is born as life within the embryo and, once the body dies,

மீண்டும் இறைவனின் நாத தத்துவத்திலேயே சென்று அமர்ந்திருக்கின்றது.

goes and rests once more in that very Nada principle of the Lord.

பெண்ணின் உடல் என்ற இயந்திரத்தினுள் ஆணின் உடல் என்ற இயந்திரத்தை இயக்கி, பெண்ணின் கர்ப்பப்பை என்னும் இயந்திரத்தினுள் கருவை உருவாக வைத்த இறைவன்,

Setting the man's body, which is one machine, working within the woman's body, which is another machine, the Lord makes the embryo form within the machine that is the woman's womb,

அந்தக் கருவை ஐந்து பூதங்களால் ஆட்டி வைத்து, ஆன்மாவையும் முப்பது தத்துவங்களையும் சேர்த்து உடல் என்ற இயந்திரத்தைக் கொடுத்துக் குழந்தையாக்கி,

stirs that embryo through the five elements, joins to it the soul and the thirty principles, gives it the machine that is the body, and turns it into a child,

அதைப் பித்த நீரினுள் பத்து மாதங்கள் மூழ்கி இருக்கச் செய்து,

keeps it submerged for ten months within the bile-fluid,

மூச்சுக்காற்றினால் உணவைச் சுட்டு எரிக்கும் வயிறாகிய இயந்திரத்துடன், ஒன்பது துவாரங்களைக் கொண்ட உடம்பில் ஆன்மாவையும் உயிரையும் ஒன்றாகச் சேர்த்து வைத்து அருளுகின்றான் இறைவன்.

and, along with the stomach that is the machine that burns food by the breath, joins the soul and the life together within a body that has nine openings, and grants it all by his grace.

இன்பத்தில் கலந்த ஆண் பெண் இருவரும் மனமொத்து வைத்த கருவாகிய மண், பந்த பாசத்தால் சிக்குண்டு துன்பத்தைப் பெறும் களிமண்ணாலான கலசம் போன்றது.

The clay that is the embryo, laid down by mutual consent by the man and the woman joined in pleasure, is like a clay pot caught in the bond of attachment, a pot that comes to bear sorrow.

அதைக் குயவன் போலக் குழைத்து உருவாக்குபவன் இறைவன் ஒருவனே.

The Lord alone is the one who kneads and shapes it, like a potter.

இந்தக் களிமண் கலசத்தில் ஒன்பது துவாரங்களும், பதினெட்டு அச்சாரங்களும் (எலும்புகள்) உள்ளன.

This clay pot has nine openings and eighteen joints, that is, bones.

எப்படிக் குயவன் தான் குழைத்து உருவாக்கிய கலசத்தை உறுதியாக்க சூளையில் இட்டுச் சுடுகிறானோ, அதுபோல இறைவனும் கருவைத் தாயின் சூடான அடிவயிற்றுக் கர்ப்பப்பை என்னும் சூளையில் வைத்துப் பத்து மாதங்கள் சுட்டுப் பாதுகாத்துக் குழந்தையாக உருவாக்கி அருளுகின்றான்.

Just as a potter fires the pot he has kneaded and shaped in a kiln to make it firm, so too the Lord places the embryo in the kiln that is the mother's own warm womb in her lower belly, fires and protects it there for ten months, and shapes it into a child by his grace.

உடம்பு அடையும் ஆறு வகையான நிலைகளை அறியாமல் இருக்கின்றீர்கள்.

You remain without knowing the six states that the body comes to pass through.

அந்த நிலைகளில் வினைப் பயனால் உருவாகிப் பெரியதாக வளரும் பலவித குணங்களில், நல்லது எது கெட்டது எது என்று பிரித்துப் பார்த்து, கெட்டதை விட்டுப் பிரியாமல் இருக்கின்றீர்கள்.

Among the many qualities that arise and grow large within those states through the fruit of your deeds, you look to tell the good from the bad, yet you remain without parting from the bad.

பஞ்ச பூதங்களால் ஆன இந்த பிண்டமாகிய உடம்பினுள் மாபெரும் சித்திகளையும் இறைவன் வைத்திருப்பதை அறியாமல்,

Within this body, this lump made of the five elements, the Lord has placed great siddhis; you remain without coming to know this,

அதை அடைந்து பேரின்பப் பெருவாழ்வைப் பெறுவதற்கும் முயற்சி செய்யாமல் இருக்கின்றீர்கள்.

and without making the effort to attain them and win the great life of supreme bliss.

ஆன்மா தனது வினையின் பயனால் பிறவி எடுக்க உடலைப் படைத்து, அதற்குள் ஆன்மாவை வைத்து, தேவையான காலத்திற்கு வாழும்படி உயிரையும் வைத்து,

The soul, by the fruit of its own deeds, fashions a body in order to take birth, places the soul within it, and places life in it so that it may live for the time it must,

தேவைக்கேற்பத் திறந்து மூடிக்கொள்கின்ற ஒன்பது துவாரங்களைக் கொண்ட உறுதியான உடலையும் வைத்து,

and gives it a firm body of nine openings that open and close as needed,

அந்த உயிர் பிறவியில்லா நிலையை அடைய, அந்த உடலின் தலையின் உச்சியில், சகஸ்ரரதளத்தில், ஆயிரம் இதழ் தாமரையின் மேல் நெருப்பு வடிவமாகத் தங்கியிருப்பதைக் கண்டு,

and so that the soul may reach the state beyond rebirth, I saw the Lord dwelling in fire-form atop the thousand-petalled lotus at the crown of the head, at the Sahasrara,

அவனோடு பேரின்பத்தில் கலந்து திளைத்து நின்றேன்.

and stood united with him, immersed in supreme bliss.

பாடல் #470ல் உள்ளபடி ஈசனுடன் பேரின்பத்தில் கலந்து திளைத்திருந்தபோது, அவன் அருளியவற்றைக் கேட்டு வியந்து நின்றேன். எங்கும் கலந்திருக்கும், ஒரு மாசும் இல்லாத மாபெரும் சுடராக இருக்கும் இறைவனே,

As told in verse 470, while I stood immersed in supreme bliss with the Lord, I listened in wonder to what he granted me. He who mingles everywhere, the great flame without a single blemish,

வினைகளின் பொருட்டு உயிர்களைப் பிறக்க வைக்க முழுமுதல் காரணமாக இருக்கின்றான்; உயிர்கள் தம் வினைகளை அனுபவிக்க வேண்டிய மாயையாகவும் அவனே இருக்கின்றான்.

is himself the first cause who brings souls to birth for the sake of their deeds, and is himself also the maya through which souls must undergo those deeds.

சுக்கிலத்தையும் சுரோணிதத்தையும் சேர்த்துக் கர்ப்பப் பைக்குள் கொண்டு சென்று கருவாக்கி, அதைக் குழந்தையின் உருவமாக நீட்டித் தழுவிக் காப்பாற்றுகிறான்.

He brings the seed and the blood together within the womb, forms the embryo, and extends and holds it, shaping it into the form of a child.

அது பிறந்தபின் அதனுடன் உள் ஒளியாகக் கலந்து, மாயையால் மறைந்து நின்று, அந்தக் குழந்தை வாழும் காலம்வரை உள்ளிருந்தே வழிநடத்துகின்றான் என்பதையும் கேட்டு உணர்ந்தேன்.

And after it is born, he mingles with it as the inner light, remains hidden through maya, and guides it from within for as long as the child lives; this I heard and understood.

பூவிதழ் போன்ற யோனியில் நுழைந்த மொட்டு போன்ற இலிங்கத்தின் நுனியிலிருந்து வெளிவந்த சுக்கிலம் சென்று, கர்ப்பப் பையின் வாசலில் இருக்கும் கருமுட்டையுடன் கலந்தபின்,

The seed that comes forth from the tip of the bud-like lingam that enters the petal-like yoni goes and mingles with the egg that lies at the door of the womb,

கருமுட்டை கர்ப்பப் பைக்குள் சென்று விரியும். அப்போது விரிந்த முட்டையிலிருந்து வெளிவந்த நீர்க் குழம்பில், ஒளி வடிவான இறைவனின் அம்சமும் ஜென்ம சுமைகளைச் சுமந்த ஆன்மாவும் சேர்ந்து கலந்து பிறவி எடுக்கும்.

and the egg then travels into the womb and opens. From the fluid that comes forth from that opened egg, the Lord's own portion, in the form of light, mingles with the soul that carries the burdens of its births, and birth takes place.

ஆண் பெண்ணின் உயிர் அணுக்கள் சேர்ந்து ஆண் பெண்ணின் சாயலிலேயே உலகத்தில் பிறக்கும் உடம்பாக மாறிவிடும்.

The life-particles of the man and the woman join, and the body that comes to be born in this world takes shape in the likeness of both.

அந்த உடம்பு முழுவதும் இறைவனின் அம்சம் பரவி, எட்டுவிதமான காரணிகள் பற்றிக்கொள்ளும்.

The Lord's portion spreads through that whole body, and eight kinds of factors take hold of it.

பாடல் #472ல் உள்ளபடி, குழந்தையின் உடலெங்கும் பரவி ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளும் அந்த எட்டுவித சூட்சும காரணிகளாக இருப்பவை, ஐந்து ஞானேந்திரியங்களும்,

As told in verse 472, of the eight subtle factors that spread through and cling to the child's whole body, five are the organs of knowledge,

மூன்று அந்தக்கரணங்களும் ஆகும்.

and three are the inner faculties.

இவற்றோடு குழந்தையை ஒட்டியே பிறப்பது வினைப் பயனால் பெற்ற பந்தம் பாசம் எனும் உணர்வுகள். இப்படி எல்லாம் கலந்து உருவாகிய பை போன்ற உடலை,

Along with these, what is born clinging to the child is the sense of bondage and attachment gained through the fruit of deeds. Shiva of the eye on his forehead is the one

வினையின்படி கட்டி வைத்து உருவாக்குவதும், பிறவி முடிவில் அவிழ்த்து அழிப்பதும் நெற்றிக் கண்ணையுடைய சிவபெருமானே.

who binds all of this together, by the rule of deeds, into the sack-like body it forms, and it is he alone who unties and destroys it at the end of that birth.

ஆன்மா பிறவி எடுப்பதற்காக, நெற்றிக் கண்ணையுடைய சிவனின் திருநாமமாகிய ஐந்தெழுத்தும் (நமசிவாய), பிரணவமும் (ஓம்) கலந்து,

So that the soul may take birth, the five-lettered sacred name of Shiva of the forehead eye, Namasivaya, mingled with Pranava, Om,

வினைப்படி பந்த பாச மாயையை வைத்து ஆன்மாவைச் சேர்த்து உடம்பாகச் செய்த இறைவனே,

and the Lord who set the bond of attachment and maya in place according to deeds, and joined the soul to make it a body,

அந்த ஆன்மா தனது பந்த பாச மாயையை நீக்கி இறைவனிடம் வந்து சேருவதற்கான வழிமுறைகளை வேதங்களாகக் கொடுத்து அருளினான்.

is the very one who granted the Vedas as the means by which that soul may remove its bond of attachment and maya and come to be united with the Lord.

அந்த வேதங்களின் பொருளைப் புரிந்து உணர்ந்துகொள்ள, கருவினுள் தத்துவங்களை வகைப்படுத்தி வைத்து அருளினான்.

And so that its meaning may be understood, he sorted and set the principles within the embryo in their kinds, and granted this too.

அருளைத் தருகின்ற சக்தியில்லாமல் சிவம் இல்லை;

Shiva does not exist apart from the power that grants grace,

அசையா சக்தியாகிய சிவம் இல்லாமல் அருளுகின்ற சக்தியும் இல்லை.

and the power that grants grace does not exist apart from Shiva, the unmoving power.

உயிர்களுக்கு உடலைத் தருகின்ற போதே, சிவத்தையும் சக்தியையும் இரண்டு வளர்ப்புத் தாய்களாகக் கூடவே அனுப்பி வைக்கின்றான் இறைவன்.

The very moment the Lord gives a body to a soul, he sends Shiva and Shakti along with it as its two foster mothers.

சிவமும் அன்பும் வேறு வேறு இல்லை; வளர்ப்புத் தாய்களாக வந்த சிவமும் சக்தியும் அன்போடு கருவை வளர்த்துப் பாதுகாத்து அதைப் பிறக்க வைக்கின்றார்கள்.

Shiva and love are not two different things; Shiva and Shakti, come as foster mothers, raise and protect the embryo with love and bring it to birth.

வினைப் பயனால் எடுக்கும் பிறவி எத்தகையது என்பதை முடிவு செய்து, அதன்படி உயிர்களைப் படைக்கின்றது ஒலி வடிவமான சக்தி.

It is Shakti, in the form of sound, who decides what kind of birth is due by the fruit of deeds and creates souls accordingly.

வினைகளைக் கழிக்கும் உயிர்களுக்கு மாயையாகிய இருளை அகற்றி அருளுகின்றது ஒளி வடிவான சிவம்.

It is Shiva, in the form of light, who grants the removal of the darkness that is maya for souls working off their deeds.

இவர்கள் இருவரும் இணைந்தே, உயிர்களை ஓர் அறிவு ஜீவியிலிருந்து ஆறு அறிவு மனிதன் வரை வகைவகையாகப் பிரித்து, அவர்களின் வினைகளுக்கு ஏற்ற வகையில் படைத்து அருளுகின்றார்கள்.

Together, the two of them divide souls into their many kinds, from the one-sensed being to the six-sensed human, and create each according to the deeds it carries.

படைப்பதோடு மட்டும் நின்றுவிடாமல், அந்த உயிர்களுக்குள்ளேயும் உயிரோடு உணர்வாகக் கலந்து நிற்பதே சிவ சக்தியின் கருணையாகும்.

And it is not creation alone that they stop at; the very compassion of Shiva and Shakti lies in mingling with those souls as awareness, alongside their life, within them.

இறைவனது கருணையால் தாயின் வயிற்றில் வளரும் ஜோதி வடிவமான ஆன்மாவை ஆணாகவும் பெண்ணாகவும் அலியெனவும் பார்ப்பது மாயையே.

It is delusion to see the soul, shining like light, that grows in the mother's womb by the grace of God as male, female or neither.

அவ்வாறு உருவம் கொடுப்பது அக்குழந்தையின் தாய் தந்தையரின் வழிமுறையால் தான் நிகழ்கிறதே தவிர,

That it takes such a form comes only through the ways of the child's own mother and father,

ஆன்மாவிற்கு என்று ஒரு உருவமும் இல்லை.

for the soul itself has no form at all.

தந்தை தாயின் வழியாகவே அவர்களின் சாயலில் கருவைப் பதித்து, அதை ஆண் பெண் அலி என்ற உருவமாகச் செய்வது இறைவனின் வல்லமையே.

It is God's own power that, through the father and the mother, sets the seed in their likeness and shapes it into the form of male, female or neither.

ஆண் பெண் கூடலின் முடிவில் கலக்கும் நீரில் ஆணின் விந்து பெண்ணின் சுரோணிதத்தை விட அதிகமாக இருந்தால் பிறப்பது ஆண் குழந்தையாகும், பெண்ணின் சுரோணிதம் அதிகமாக இருந்தால் பிறப்பது பெண் குழந்தையாகும்.

At the close of the union of man and woman, if the man's seed is greater in the mingling fluid than the woman's fluid, what is born is a male child; if the woman's fluid is greater, what is born is a female child.

இரண்டும் சமமாக இருந்தால் பிறப்பது அலியாகும்.

If the two are equal, what is born is neither.

ஆணின் விந்தில் உயிரணுவின் சக்தி மிகுதியாக இருந்தால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை உலகையே ஆளும் அரசனைப் போல சீரும் சிறப்பும் மிக்கதாக இருக்கும்.

When the vital force in the man's seed is very great, the child born is as full of order and glory as a king who rules the whole world.

பெண்ணின் சுரோணிதத்தின் உயிரணு அழிக்கும் சக்தி மிகுதியாக இருந்தால் விந்து பாய்ந்தும் பயனின்றி கரு உருவாகாமலே போய்விடும்.

When the destroying force in the woman's fluid is very great, then even though the seed has flowed, it comes to nothing and no embryo forms at all.

ஆண் பெண் இன்பத்தின் முடிவில் ஆணிடமிருந்து விந்து வெளிவந்து பெண்ணின் யோனியில் பாய்ந்த பிறகு, ஆண் விடும் மூச்சுக்காற்றின் அளவு ஐந்து வினாடிகள் அளவிற்கு வெளிவந்தால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை நூறு ஆண்டுகள் ஆயுளோடு பிறக்கும்.

At the close of the union of man and woman, once the man's seed has flowed out and entered the woman's womb, if the breath he releases lasts about five seconds, the child born will have a hundred years of life.

ஆண் விடும் மூச்சுக்காற்றின் அளவு நான்கு வினாடிகள் அளவிற்கு வெளிவந்தால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை எண்பது ஆண்டுகள் ஆயுளோடு பிறக்கும்.

If the breath he releases lasts about four seconds, the child born will have eighty years of life.

எந்த அளவு மூச்சுக்காற்று வெளிவருகின்றது என்பதைப் பிரித்துப் பார்த்து அறிந்துகொள்வது யோக சாதனைகளைப் புரிந்து அவற்றைக் கைவரப் பெற்ற யோகியர்களுக்கே முடியும்.

Discerning exactly how much breath flows out is something only yogis who have understood and mastered their yogic disciplines can do.

தமக்கு வேண்டிய அளவிற்கு அதை வெளிவரச் செய்வதும் அவர்களுக்கே முடியும்; ஆகவே அவர்களுக்கு ஆயுள் அளவு என்பது கிடையாது.

Making it flow out to whatever extent is wished is theirs alone to do; therefore for them there is no fixed span of life.

ஆண் பெண் இன்பத்தின் முடிவில் ஆணிடமிருந்து விந்து வெளிவந்து பெண்ணின் யோனியில் பாய்ந்த பிறகு, ஆண் விடும் மூச்சுக்காற்றின் அளவு நான்கு வினாடிக்கும் குறைவாக வெளிவந்தால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை குட்டையாகப் பிறக்கும்.

At the close of the union of man and woman, once the man's seed has flowed out and entered the woman's womb, if the breath he releases lasts less than four seconds, the child born will be born short.

ஆணின் மூச்சுக்காற்று மெலிந்து வெளிவந்தால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை முடமாகப் பிறக்கும்.

If his breath comes out faint, the child born will be born lame.

ஆணின் மூச்சுக்காற்று சீராக வராமல் தடைபட்டுத் தடைபட்டு வந்தால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை கூனுடன் பிறக்கும்.

If his breath does not come evenly but comes checked and broken, the child born will be born with a hunched back.

இவ்வாறு வெளிவரும் மூச்சுக்காற்றின் அளவைக் கணக்கிடும் முறை ஆண்களுக்கே உரியது; பெண்கள் விடும் மூச்சுக்காற்றின் அளவு இதில் கணக்கில் கொள்ளப்படுவதில்லை.

This way of reckoning the breath's measure belongs to the man alone; the breath the woman releases is not taken into this reckoning.

ஆண் பெண் இன்பத்தின் முடிவில் விந்து கருமுட்டையுடன் சேரும்போது, தாயாகப் போகும் பெண்ணின் வயிற்றில் மலக்கழிவு அதிகமாக இருந்தால்,

At the close of the union of man and woman, when the seed joins with the egg, if there is much waste matter in the belly of the woman who is to become the mother,

பிறக்கும் குழந்தை மந்த புத்தியுடன் பிறக்கும்.

the child born will be born dull-witted.

அவள் வயிற்றில் சிறுநீர் அதிகமாக இருந்தால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை ஊமையாகப் பிறக்கும்.

If there is much urine in her belly, the child born will be born mute.

மலக்கழிவும் சிறுநீரும் சமமான அளவில் இருந்தால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை குருடாகப் பிறக்கும்.

If waste matter and urine are equal in measure, the child born will be born blind.

ஆண் பெண் இன்பத்தின் போது ஆணின் மூச்சுக்காற்று வலப்புற நாசியான சூரியகலை வழியே சென்றால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை ஆணாகப் பிறக்கும்.

In the union of man and woman, if the man's breath moves through his right nostril, the solar channel, the child born will be born male.

ஆணின் மூச்சுக்காற்று இடப்புற நாசியான சந்திரகலை வழியே சென்றால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை பெண்ணாகப் பிறக்கும்.

If his breath moves through his left nostril, the lunar channel, the child born will be born female.

ஆணின் மூச்சுக்காற்று இரு நாசிகள் வழியாகவும் ஒன்றாகச் சென்றால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தை அலியாகப் பிறக்கும்.

If his breath moves through both nostrils together, the child born will be born neither.

உடலுறவின் போது பெண்ணின் மூச்சுக்காற்றை எதிர்த்து அபானன் என்னும் மலக்காற்று வந்தால் பிறக்கும் குழந்தைகள் இரட்டைக் குழந்தைகளாகப் பிறக்கும்.

And if, during the union, the downward wind called abanan meets and opposes the woman's breath, the children born will be born as twins.

ஆண் பெண் இன்பத்தின் போது உடலுக்கு நன்மை தரும் மூச்சுக்காற்றை இருவரும் சீராக இழுத்து விட்டால்

In the union of man and woman, if both draw and release the breath that is good for the body evenly,

பிறக்கும் குழந்தை மிகவும் அழகாகப் பிறக்கும்.

the child born will be born very beautiful.

இருவருக்கும் மூச்சுக்காற்று தடுமாறிச் சீரில்லாமல் ஓடினால்,

But if the breath of both falters and runs unevenly,

பெண்ணின் வயிற்றில் கரு உருவானாலும் அது குழந்தையாக மாறாமல் சிதைந்துபோய்விடும்.

then even if the seed takes in the woman's womb, it will not turn into a child but will wither away.

ஆண் பெண் இன்பத்தின் முடிவில் பெண்ணின் வயிற்றில் தங்கும் கருவானது, மனித உடலின் உள் நாக்கிற்கு மேலே இருக்கும் சுழுமுனை நாடித் துளை வழியே தரிசிக்கப்படும் ஜோதி வடிவான இறைவனின் அம்சமாகும்.

At the close of the union of man and woman, the seed that comes to rest in the woman's womb is a portion of God, shining like light, that is beheld through the channel of the sushumna nadi that lies above the inner tongue in the human body.

அந்தக் கரு குழந்தையாக மாறும்போது சூரியனைப் போன்ற தகதகக்கும் தங்க நிறத்தில் இருக்கும்.

When that seed turns into a child, it holds the blazing golden colour of the sun.

பிறகு அதுவே உடலின் பல்வேறு உறுப்புகளாக வளரும்போது,

Afterwards, as it grows into the body's various limbs,

தந்தை தாயின் உருவத்திற்கு ஏற்ப குழந்தையின் உருவமும் பொருத்தமாக வளரும்.

the form of the child grows to fit the form of the father and the mother.

குழந்தையின் உருவம் பத்து மாதங்களாகத் தாயின் கருப்பையில் கருவாக வளர்ந்து, பூமியில் குழந்தையாகப் பிறந்து, இளைஞன் முதியவன் என்று பலவித பருவங்களாக வளர்ந்தாலும்,

The child's form grows for ten months as a seed within the mother's womb, is born into the world as a child, and grows on through youth and old age and every other stage, and yet

தனக்குள் இருக்கும் இறைவனையும் தான் யார் என்பதையும் மாயையால் அறியாமலேயே வளர்கிறது.

it grows without ever knowing, because of maya, either the God within it or who it itself is.

அந்த உயிர் இறக்கும்போது, அது உடலைவிட்டு நுட்பமான ஆன்மாவாகத் திரும்பிப் போய்விடுவதை உலகத்தவர் எவரும் அறியமாட்டார்.

When that life dies, no one in the world knows that it leaves the body and returns as the subtle soul.

மாயையால் கட்டுண்டு இருக்கும் உலகத்தவர், உயிர் ஆன்மாவாக இருப்பதையோ, அந்த ஆன்மா இறைவனின் அம்சமாக இருப்பதையோ ஒருபோதும் அறியாமலேயே பிறந்து வாழ்ந்து இறந்துபோகின்றனர்.

Bound by maya, the people of the world are born, live and die without ever knowing that life is the soul, or that the soul is a portion of God.

விந்தை இட்ட ஆண்களும் அது கருவாகியதா என்பதை அறிந்திருக்க மாட்டார்கள்; அதை ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட பெண்களும் அறிந்திருக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

The men who release the seed do not know whether it has become an embryo, and the women who receive it do not know either.

தங்கத்தை நகையாகச் செய்யும் தச்சன் போல, ஆன்மாவை வினைப்படி உயிராகச் செய்யும் பிரம்மனும் இதை அறிந்திருந்தாலும் யாருக்கும் அதைச் சொன்னதில்லை.

Like the smith who fashions gold into an ornament, Brahma, who by the working of deeds turns the soul into a life, knows this too, but has never told it to anyone.

அனைத்தும் அறிந்த இறைவனும் உயிர்களுக்குள் கலந்திருந்தாலும் யாருக்கும் ஒன்றும் சொல்வதில்லை; இவை எல்லாவற்றையும் உயிர்கள் அறியாதிருப்பது அவற்றின் மாயையினால் தான்.

Even God, who knows everything and dwells mingled within all lives, tells nothing to anyone either; that souls do not know any of this is only because of their own maya.

இறைவனின் அருளால் நான் இறைவனை எனக்குள்ளேயே கண்டு உணர்ந்துவிட்டதால், அந்த மாயையை அழித்து இதை அறிந்துகொண்டேன்.

By the grace of God, I have myself seen and realized God within me, and so I have destroyed that maya and come to know this.

ஆண் பெண் இருவரும் சந்தித்து இன்பத்தில் உறவாடுகின்றனர். அவர்களின் உறவினால், துன்பத்தையே தரும் பந்தபாசம் என்னும் மாயையால் கட்டப்பட்ட கரு உருவாகி, குழந்தையாகப் பிறந்து உயிராக வளர்கிறது.

A man and a woman meet and unite in pleasure. From their union, an embryo bound by the maya called bondage and attachment, which gives only sorrow, takes form, is born as a child and grows as a life.

வளரும் அந்த உயிர் மாயையிலிருந்து விடுபட வேண்டும் என்று எண்ணினால், தன்னை உயிராகப் பிறக்க வைத்த இறைவன் ஒருவன் ஆதிகாலத்திலிருந்தே எப்போதும் இருக்கின்றான் என்பதை உணர வேண்டும்.

If that growing life comes to wish to be freed from maya, it must realize that the one God who caused it to be born as a life has always existed from the beginning of time.

அவனைத் தேடி அடைய ஆசைப்பட்டு, அவனுடைய திருநாமத்தை (ஓம் நமசிவாய) மந்திரமாக ஓதி தியானத்தில் இருக்க வேண்டும்.

It must long to seek and reach him, chant his sacred name (Om Namasivaya) as a mantra, and abide in meditation.

அப்போது அவனைத் தமக்குள்ளே அறிந்து மாயையிலிருந்து விடுபடலாம்.

Then it can come to know him within itself and be freed from maya.

குயில் தனது முட்டையைக் காக்கையின் கூட்டில் கொண்டுபோய் இட்டுவிட்டுத் திரும்பிவிடும். காக்கைக்குக் குயிலின் முட்டைக்கும் தன் முட்டைக்கும் வேறுபாடு தெரியாததால், அதைத் தன் குஞ்சு என்றே நினைத்து,

The cuckoo carries its egg to the crow's nest, lays it there, and leaves. Since the crow cannot tell the cuckoo's egg from its own, it takes it for its own chick,

எள்ளளவும் சந்தேகமின்றி அடைகாத்துப் பொரித்து, அது கூவும் வரை அது குயிலின் குஞ்சு என்பதை அறியாமல் வளர்க்கும்.

sits and hatches it without the least suspicion, and raises it without knowing it is the cuckoo's chick until it calls out.

அதுபோலவே, இறைவன் தாயின் கருவில் வைத்த உயிரைத் தாய் தன் சொந்தக் குழந்தை என்றே எண்ணிக்கொண்டு, சிறிதும் சந்தேகமின்றி, உடல் அதிரும் வேலைகள் செய்யாமல் கருவைப் பாதுகாக்கிறாள்.

In the same way, the mother takes the life that God has placed in her womb as her own child, and without the least suspicion, guards the embryo, avoiding work that would jar the body.

அது ஏன் வந்தது எதற்கு வந்தது என்ற எண்ணமே இல்லாமல், இறைவனின் உயிரைத் தன்னுடைய சொந்த உயிர் என்று பந்தபாசம் என்னும் மாயையால் எண்ணிக்கொண்டு வளர்க்கிறாள்.

With no thought at all of why it came or for what purpose, she raises it, by the maya called bondage and attachment, thinking the life that is God's own to be her own.

ஒரு விதை முதலில் முளைத்துச் செடியாக வளர்ந்து, பின்பு வேர், மண், நீர் ஆகியவற்றுடன் இயைந்து,

A seed first sprouts and grows into a plant, and afterwards, working with root, soil and water,

தன்னைப் போலவே வலிமையுடனும் தன் தன்மையுடனும் பல செடிகளைப் புதர் போலப் பெருக்குகிறது.

multiplies into many plants like a thicket, each with the same strength and the same nature as itself.

ஒரு வகைச் செடி தன் வகையையே தவிர வேறு வகைச் செடியை உருவாக்காது.

One kind of plant produces only its own kind, never another kind.

உலகில் எத்தனை வகைத் தாவரங்கள் தத்தம் வகைகளை உருவாக்குகின்றனவோ, அத்தனை வகைத் தாவரங்களாகவும் ஆதியாய் இருக்கும் இறைவனே இருக்கின்றான்.

And in as many kinds as the plants of this world produce their own kinds, in that many kinds itself exists the God who is the first cause.

அனைத்துத் தெய்வங்களையும்விடப் பெருமை மிக்க நமது இறைவன்,

Our God, who is greater in majesty than all other gods,

வினைகளும் மலங்களும் கொண்ட குறைபாடுடைய உயிர்களின் உடல்களிலும் கலந்திருக்கின்றான்.

dwells mingled even within the bodies of souls burdened with the flaws of deeds and impurities.

வானுலகத் தேவர்களாலும் அறிய முடியாத அளவு பெருமையுடைய அந்த மகாதேவனை,

That Mahadeva, so great that even the gods of the heavens cannot know him,

உயிர்கள் தமக்குள் தவம் செய்து தமக்குள்ளேயே அறியலாம்.

can be known by souls only within themselves, through their own tapas.

இறைவனின் பேரான்மாவோடு கலந்திருந்த நல்ல ஆன்மா, உலகில் உயிராகப் பிறந்து தன் ஆசைகளைத் தீர்த்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்று விரும்பினால்,

When a good soul that had been mingled with God's supreme soul comes to wish to be born in the world as a life and satisfy its desires,

கடல் நீர் சூரியனின் வெப்பத்தால் திரண்டு உப்புக் கட்டிகளாக மாறுவதுபோல,

then, just as seawater is drawn up by the sun's heat and condenses into crystals of salt,

இறைவனின் திருவருளால் அந்த ஆன்மா உடல் பெற்று,

that soul, mingled with the supreme soul, comes by God's grace to take on a body,

ஒரு உயிராகப் பிறவி எடுக்கின்றது.

and be born as a life.
