வினைப் பயனால் எடுக்கும் பிறவி எத்தகையது என்பதை முடிவு செய்து, அதன்படி உயிர்களைப் படைக்கின்றது ஒலி வடிவமான சக்தி. வினைகளைக் கழிக்கும் உயிர்களுக்கு மாயையாகிய இருளை அகற்றி அருளுகின்றது ஒளி வடிவான சிவம். இவர்கள் இருவரும் இணைந்தே, உயிர்களை ஓர் அறிவு ஜீவியிலிருந்து ஆறு அறிவு மனிதன் வரை வகைவகையாகப் பிரித்து, அவர்களின் வினைகளுக்கு ஏற்ற வகையில் படைத்து அருளுகின்றார்கள். படைப்பதோடு மட்டும் நின்றுவிடாமல், அந்த உயிர்களுக்குள்ளேயும் உயிரோடு உணர்வாகக் கலந்து நிற்பதே சிவ சக்தியின் கருணையாகும்.
It is Shakti, in the form of sound, who decides what kind of birth is due by the fruit of deeds and creates souls accordingly. It is Shiva, in the form of light, who grants the removal of the darkness that is maya for souls working off their deeds. Together, the two of them divide souls into their many kinds, from the one-sensed being to the six-sensed human, and create each according to the deeds it carries. And it is not creation alone that they stop at; the very compassion of Shiva and Shakti lies in mingling with those souls as awareness, alongside their life, within them.
