13. சரீர சித்தி உபாயம்

உயிர்களின் உடல் அழிந்துவிட்டால், அதனுள் இருக்கும் உயிரும் அழிந்துவிடும்.

If the body of living beings perishes, the life within it perishes too.

உடலின் உறுதி சீர்குலைந்தால், உறுதியாக மெய்ஞானத்தை அடையவும் முடியாது.

If the firmness of the body is disturbed, one cannot firmly attain true wisdom either.

உடலை வளர்க்கும் உபாயத்தை அறிந்துகொண்டேன்.

I came to know the means by which the body is nurtured.

அதன் மூலம் உடலையும் வளர்த்தேன், உயிரையும் வளர்த்தேன்.

Through it I nurtured the body, and nurtured the life within it as well.

உடம்பை முன்பு ஒரு குறையாகவே கருதியிருந்தேன்.

I used to regard the body as nothing but a flaw.

ஆனால் உடம்பினுக்குள் உரிமையாளன் இல்லாமல் தானே வந்தமையும் ஒரு பொருளைக் கண்டேன்.

But I found within the body a reality that had come to abide there on its own, without an owner.

அந்தப் பொருள் இறைவன் என்றும், அவன் இந்த உடம்பினுள்ளேயே கோயில் கொண்டிருக்கிறான் என்றும் தெரிந்துகொண்டு,

Knowing that this reality is God himself, and that he has taken up residence there as in a temple, within this very body,

இந்த உடம்பை நான் பேணிக் காத்து வருகிறேன்.

I now guard and cherish this body.

மூச்சுக்காற்றைச் சுழற்றிச் செலுத்தி,

Driving the breath in a circuit,

மலத்தை நீக்கிக் கமலத்தை நிரப்பி,

clearing away impurity and filling the lotus,

மீண்டும் மீண்டும் சுழற்றிச் செலுத்தும் அந்த உபாயத்தை அறிந்தவர்களுடைய உடல்,

again and again: those who know that means, their bodies,

அஞ்சனமாகவே ஆகி, என்றும் அழியாமல் நிலைத்திருக்கும்.

turn into anjanam, the lustrous black collyrium, and so remain unperishing forever.

பாடல் #726-இல் சொன்ன அந்த உடலை, சூரியன் மறையும் மாலை நேரத்தில் செய்தால், கபம் சார்ந்த வியாதிகள் யாவும் நீங்கும்.

If that body spoken of in verse 726 is so treated at evening, when the sun sets, every affliction of phlegm departs.

அதை மத்தியான நேரத்தில் செய்தால், வாதம் சார்ந்த வியாதிகள் யாவும் நீங்கும்.

If it is done at midday, every affliction of wind departs.

அதைச் சூரியன் தோன்றும் அதிகாலையில் செய்தால், பித்தம் சார்ந்த வியாதிகள் யாவும் நீங்கும்.

If it is done at early dawn, when the sun rises, every affliction of bile departs.

இவ்வாறு நாள் முழுவதும் இடைவிடாது செய்துவந்தால், நஞ்சு முற்றிலும் அகன்று, நரையும் திரையும் அழிந்துவிடும் என்று உறுதியாகக் கூறினோம்.

So, if this is done without ceasing throughout the day, the poison departs entirely, and, we have declared with certainty, graying and wrinkling are destroyed.

மூன்று மடிப்புகளுடைய இரு பாம்புகள் எட்டு அங்குல அளவில் உள்ளன.

The two serpents, each with three coils, extend to eight inches.

அவற்றுக்கு ஏற்ற கருவியானது பன்னிரண்டு அங்குலம் நீள்கிறது.

The instrument fit for them stretches to twelve inches.

தொங்கி அவிழும் இரண்டு முட்டைகளையும் கட்டி,

If one binds the two loosely hanging eggs,

அசையாமல் ஊன்றி இருக்குமாறு செய்தால், உடல் அழியாது.

and remains fixed and unmoving, established so, the body will not perish.

வலமாக நூறும் அறுபதும் ஆறுமாக மூச்சுக்காற்று செல்கிறது.

The breath moves in a count of a hundred, sixty and six to the right.

இடமாகவும் நூறும் அறுபதும் ஆறுமாக மூச்சுக்காற்று செல்கிறது.

It moves in the same count of a hundred, sixty and six to the left.

எதிராகவும் நூறும் அறுபதும் ஆறுமாக மூச்சுக்காற்று செல்கிறது.

It moves in that same count facing forward as well.

அவ்வாறே நூறும் அறுபதும் மாறி உள்ளே புகுகின்றது.

And so too, changing, a hundred and sixty enters within.

இறைவன் உறையும் உடலாகிய கோயிலில் இடமும் வலமும் சாதித்த சாதகனுக்கு,

For the practitioner who has accomplished going left and right within the temple that is the body where God dwells,

மத்தியான நேரத்தில் புல்லாங்குழலில் புகுந்த காற்றின் இசை போன்ற ஒலி கேட்கும்படியும்,

at midday a sound like the music of wind entering a flute may be heard,

தித்திக்கும் பேரின்பக் கூத்தும் சிவனும் வெளிப்படும்படியும் ஆகும்.

and the sweet, blissful dance and Shiva himself will manifest.

என்பது, சதாநந்தியின் ஆணையாக, நாங்கள் சொன்ன உண்மை.

This is the truth we have declared, by the oath of Sadanandi.

ஒளிமயமான அகரம் என்னும் எழுத்தையும்,

The resplendent letter A,

அதனுடன் சேர விரும்பி நினைந்து ஓதும் சகரம் என்னும் எழுத்தையும்,

and the letter Sa, uttered with the longing to unite with it,

மாறிமாறி உச்சரிப்பதே மந்திரமாகும்.

repeating them in turn is itself the mantra.

நிலைத்து நிற்கும் அந்த நாதத்தை அறமாகப் பெறுவதே யோகிக்குரிய அறநெறியாகும்.

And rightfully attaining that abiding sound is the very path of dharma for the yogi.

தொப்புள் சுழியிலிருந்து எழும் மூச்சை, சிவ மந்திரத்தால் சிந்தித்து எழுப்பி,

Contemplating and invoking with the Shiva-mantra, one rouses the breath that rises from the whorl of the navel,

முன்பே நிலைநிறுத்தப்பட்ட முகட்டின்மேல் கொண்டுசென்று,

and carries it up to where it was first fixed at the ridge above,

அங்கும் சிந்தித்து எழுப்புகின்றவன்,

contemplating and invoking it there too, that one,

சிவனேயாவான்.

becomes Shiva himself.

எப்போதும் அசையாத மலவாயிலுக்கு மேலே இரு விரற்கடை தூரத்திலும்,

Two fingers above the ever-present passage of waste,

சொல்லாமலே உணரப்படும் இலிங்கக் குறிக்குக் கீழே இரு விரற்கடை தூரத்திலும் உள்ள அந்த இடத்தை நோக்கி,

and two fingers below the sign that is felt without being spoken, fixing the mind on that place,

பாடல் #731-இல் சொன்ன மந்திரத்தை மனத்திற்குள் தியானித்தால்,

and meditating there within the mind on the mantra given in verse 731,

உடலின் ஆறு இடங்களிலும் உள்ள அதே இறை ஆற்றல் அங்கேயும் அக்கினியாக இருப்பதைக் கண்டு உணரலாம்.

one can see and realize that the same divine power present in all six places of the body is present there too, as fire.

நீல நிறமுடைய, அணிகலன் பொருந்திய அவளுடன்,

With her, blue-hued and fittingly adorned,

முழுமையாகக் கலந்து, உறுதியாக நிலைத்திருப்பவர்களுக்கு,

for those who fully embrace her and remain steadfastly established,

உலகம் அறியும்படியாகவே நரையும் திரையும் மாறி,

so that the whole world may know it, graying and wrinkling will change,

பாலகனைப் போலவும் ஆவார்கள் என்பது பரா நந்தியின் ஆணை.

and they will become even as a child. This is the oath of Para Nandi.

அண்டம் சுருங்கினாலும் அதற்கு அழிவில்லை.

Even if the macrocosm shrinks, there is no destruction to it thereby.

பிண்டம் சுருங்கினால் பிராணன் நிலைபேறு அடையும்.

If the body shrinks, the prana attains steadiness.

உணவைச் சுருக்கினால் அடையத்தக்க வழிகள் பல உள.

If food is lessened, there are many means to be gained by it.

அவ்வாறு செய்பவர், கருமை நிறமுடைய கழுத்தையுடைய நல்ல கபாலியே போல் ஆவார்.

One who does so becomes like the good Kapali himself, of the dark throat.

உடலுக்குள் உள்ள அந்தக் கழிவகல் வாசலிலிருந்து தொடங்கி,

Beginning from that gate of waste within the body,

படிப்படியாக மேலேறிச் சென்று அண்டத்தை அடைந்தால்,

and going on, step after step, upward until one reaches the macrocosm,

வண்டுகள் விரும்பும் மலர் சூடிய கூந்தலையுடைய பெண்களே,

even women whose flower-decked hair the bees themselves desire,

கண்டு விரும்பும் அழகிய உடலைப் பெறலாம்.

would, on seeing it, desire the resulting body: one so fine may be attained.

சுழன்று அடிக்கும் பெருங்காற்றின் நடுவே சிக்கித் தேர் அலைந்து திரிவதைப் போல,

As a chariot caught in the midst of a whirling storm wanders helplessly,

பிறப்பு இறப்பு என்னும் தொன்மையான சுழற்சியில் சிக்கிய உயிர்கள் பிறவித் துன்பத்தில் அலைகின்றன.

so do living beings, caught in the ancient cycle of birth and death, wander in the suffering of birth.

அந்தச் சுழற்சியிலிருந்து உயிர்களை விடுவிக்கும் ஈசன், உடலுக்குள்ளேயே அழல் நடுவே ஒளியுருவமாக வீற்றிருக்கின்றான்.

The Lord, who frees beings from that cycle, dwells within the body itself, a form of light amid the fire.

அவனுடைய சிலம்பணிந்த திருவடியைக் கண்டால், நிழலிலும் வெயிலிலும் ஒருபோல நிலைத்து நிற்கலாம்.

If one beholds his sacred, anklet-wearing feet, one may stand unmoved alike, in shade and in sunlight.

நெற்றி நடுவில் கண்ட ஒளியும், நான்கு கலைகளைக் கொண்டு ஏழு இடங்களுக்கும் எடுத்துச் சென்ற மூச்சுக்காற்றும்,

The light seen at the centre of the forehead, and the breath carried with four measures to all seven places,

உடல் முழுவதையும் மூடியிருக்கும் தோலும், தமக்குள் உணர்ந்த மெய்யுணர்வுக்கு மருந்தாக அமைய,

and the skin that covers the whole body, all becoming medicine for the true awareness realized within,

மான் கன்று கீரையைத் தின்று வளர்வதைப் போல,

just as a fawn grows by feeding on tender greens,

மெய்யுணர்வை உண்டு ஆன்மா பிறவியில்லா நிலைக்கு முதிர்ச்சி அடைகின்றது.

the soul feeds on that true awareness and matures to the state where there is no more birth.

ஒரு நெல்லை நட்டால் அதிலிருந்து பல நெல் விளையும்; அவற்றை மீண்டும் நட்டால் பல்லாயிரமாகவும், அதையும் நட்டால் பல்கோடியாகவும் பெருகும்.

If one grain of paddy is sown, many grains grow from it; sowing those again yields many thousands, and sowing those yields many crores.

அதுபோலவே, தன்னுள் தோன்றும் அந்த மந்திர ஒலியை மீண்டும் மீண்டும் உடலுக்குள்ளேயே எந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பும் இன்றி மனனம் செய்யும் சாதகனின்,

In the same way, of the practitioner who, again and again, silently repeats within the body, without any expectation, that mantra-sound which arises within,

உடல் அழியாமலிருந்து, ஒரு மந்திரம் பல மந்திரமாகப் பெருகி,

the body remains unperishing, and one mantra multiplies into many,

வேத மந்திரமாகவே இருக்கும் இறைவனுடன் ஒடுங்கிவிடும்.

until he merges with God, who is himself the Veda-mantra.
