4. கடுஞ் சுத்த சைவம்

வெளிப்புற வேடங்கள் எதுவும் இன்றி, உலக நியதிகளைக் கடந்து இருக்கின்ற இறைவன் மேல் மட்டும் எண்ணங்களை வைத்து,

Without any outward garb, setting the mind only upon God, who is beyond worldly custom,

எந்தவிதமான ஆடம்பரங்களும் இல்லாமல் ஆசைகளையும் பாசங்களையும் நீக்கிவிட்டு,

giving up every kind of show, and casting off desires and attachments,

பதியாகிய இறைவனை அடைவது மட்டுமே குறிக்கோளாகக் கொண்டு, பாசத் தளைகளும் இறைவனிடமிருந்து ஆன்மா தனித்திருக்கும் பசு தத்துவமும் அழிந்துபோகும்படி செய்து,

holding reaching God the Master as one's only aim, and bringing to ruin both the bonds of attachment and the state of the soul standing separate from God,

இறைவனை மட்டுமே சார்ந்திருந்து இறைவன் அருளிய போதனைகளை முறைப்படி கடைப்பிடிப்பவரே கடும் சுத்த சைவர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.

depending on God alone and holding fast in due order to the teachings graciously given by God: such alone are the Kadum Suddha Saivas.

மனித உடலாக இருக்கின்ற ஐந்து பூதங்களையும், அதை ஒன்றின்மேல் ஒன்றாக மூடியிருக்கின்ற ஐந்து வகையான கோசங்களையும் கடந்து நின்று,

Passing beyond the five elements that make up the human body and the five sheaths that cover them one over another,

அதையும் தாண்டி விரிந்திருக்கின்ற சுத்த மாயையையும் மற்றும் இருக்கின்ற அனைத்துத் தத்துவங்களையும் தாண்டிச் சென்று,

and going beyond that too, past pure maya spread out further still and all the remaining principles,

இறைவனை அடைவதற்குத் தடையாக மாயையிலேயே மயங்கியிருக்கின்ற கேவல நிலைக்குக் காரணமாக இருக்கின்ற பாசங்களையும் முழுவதுமாக நீக்கிவிட்டு,

and completely casting off the attachments that are the cause of the deluded, base state that keeps one lost in maya and obstructs the reaching of God,

உறுதியாகத் தனக்குள் இருக்கும் இறைவனை மட்டுமே உற்றுக் கவனித்தபடியே இருப்பதே, சித்தத்தின் எல்லையாக இருக்கின்ற கடும் சுத்த மார்க்கத்தின் வழியாகும்.

remaining firmly, steadfastly intent only upon the God who dwells within: this is the way of Kadum Suddha Margam, the very limit of thought.

மாசில்லாத பரம்பொருளாகிய இறைவன், பாடல் #1438 இல் உள்ளபடி சொல்லி அருளிய போதனைகளைத் தமக்குள் உள்வாங்கிக்கொண்டு, அவற்றையே ஓயாமல் சிந்தித்து ஆராய்ந்து,

Having taken within itself the teachings graciously spoken by God, the stainless Supreme, as in verse 1438, and having thought upon and researched them without ceasing,

இறைவன் அருளிய போதனைகளில் உள்ள ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தையின் பொருளும் முத்தி நிலைக்கு விதையாக இருக்கின்றதை உணர்ந்து,

having realized that the meaning of every single word in those teachings is a seed for the state of liberation,

அதன் மூலம் முக்திக்கு மூலப்பொருளாக இருக்கின்ற இறைவனின் தன்மையைத் தானும் பெற்ற சாதகரின் ஆன்மாவானது, இறைவனைச் சென்றடைந்து,

and having thereby themselves gained the nature of God, who is the root source of liberation, the practitioner's soul goes and reaches God,

அவன் அருளால் மாசில்லாத சிவம் எனும் பரம்பொருளாகத் தாமும் ஆகியிருப்பவர்களே கடும் சுத்த சைவர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.

and, by his grace, itself becomes the stainless Supreme called Sivam: such alone are the Kadum Suddha Saivas.

நானாகிய ஆன்மா எங்கே இருக்கின்றது என்றும், தனக்குள் இருக்கும் இறைவன் எங்கே இருக்கின்றான் என்றும் தேடி அலைந்து, நான் இறைவனைச் சார்ந்திருக்கும்போது,

Searching and wandering, asking where I, who am the soul, exist, and where God, who dwells within me, exists, when I came to depend on God,

இறைவன் என்றும் ஆன்மா என்றும் தனித்தனியாக இருக்கின்ற இரண்டுவிதமான தத்துவங்களும் இல்லாமல், தானே அனைத்துமாய் நிற்கின்ற பரம்பொருளாகிய இறைவன்,

he showed there is no such thing as two separate principles, God and the soul, standing apart, but that God, the Supreme who alone stands as everything,

தான் என்றும் நான் என்றும் ஆகிய அனைத்தும் தாமாகவே இருக்கின்ற தத்துவத்தை எனக்குத் தந்தருளியதால்,

is himself both "he" and "I," and, because he graciously gave me this truth that all is himself alone,

இனி தான் என்றும் நான் என்றும் ஆன்மாவையும் இறைவனையும் வேறுவேறு என்று பார்க்கின்ற தத்துவத்தைச் சார்ந்து நிற்காமல், அனைத்தும் இறைவன் ஒருவனே என்று இருக்கின்றேன்.

I no longer hold to the notion that sees "he" and "I," the soul and God, as different from each other; I remain now knowing that all is God, one alone.

சார்ந்து நிற்பதற்கு மிகவும் அரியதாக இருக்கின்ற, அனைத்தும் இறைவன் ஒருவனே எனும் தத்துவம் இறையருளால் கிடைக்கப் பெற்றால்,

If, by God's grace, one attains the truth, most rare to hold to, that all is God alone,

ஆசைகளை நீக்குவதற்கு மிகவும் அரியதாகிய ஐந்து புலன்களும் அடங்கிவிடும்.

then even the five senses, most rare to still, will be stilled.

அதன்பிறகு, மேலே திகழ்கின்ற உண்மை ஞானமானது, இருளான வீட்டில் ஏற்றிவைத்த விளக்கு ஒளியைக் கொடுப்பது போல, மாயை நீங்கிய உண்மையை விளங்கவைக்கும் ஒளியாக நிற்கும்.

After that, the true knowledge shining above will stand as a light making plain the truth freed of maya, the way a lamp lit within a dark house gives its light.

அப்போது, இந்த உலகத்திலேயே கடும் சுத்த சைவத்தைக் கடைப்பிடிக்கின்ற சைவர்கள், தாம் இருக்கின்ற இடத்திலேயே பரம்பொருளோடு எப்போதும் ஒன்றாகச் சேர்ந்தே இருக்கின்ற சாயுச்சியம் எனும் நிலையைப் பெறுவார்கள்.

Then Saivas who hold, in this very world, to Kadum Suddha Saivam will gain, in the very place where they stand, the state called sayujyam, remaining ever united as one with the Supreme.
