திருமூலர் அருளிய திருமந்திரம்
1. சுத்த சைவம்

அனைத்து உயிர்களையும் அவை வாழும் உலகத்தையும் ஒன்றாகக் கலந்து நின்று இயக்குகின்ற பேரறிவே இறைவன்;

The one who, as supreme knowledge, pervades and moves as one both all lives and the world where they dwell, is God;

அப்படிப்பட்ட ஞானமாக விளங்கும் அவனுடைய பெருமையைக் குறிப்பிட்டுச் சொல்லப் போனால்,

and if one is to speak of the greatness of that one who shines as such knowledge,

அனைத்துச் சக்திகளும் ஒன்றுசேர்ந்த உருவமாகிய மேரு மலையையும், மேலுலகம் பூலோகம் பாதாள லோகம் ஆகிய மூன்று உலகங்களையும் ஆளுகின்ற அவனிடமிருந்தே தெளிவாகத் தோன்றி,

then, from him who rules Mount Meru, the form in which every power is gathered, and the three worlds, the upper world, the earth and the netherworld, arising clearly,

அவனை அறிய முயலும் அடியவர்களுக்கு ஆதாரமாக இருக்கின்ற நான்கு வகையான நெறிமுறைகளே சைவம் என்னும் பெருமைக்கு உரியனவாகும்.

there stand four kinds of paths as the ground for devotees striving to know him, and it is these that are worthy of the great name Saivam.

நிலையானதாகிய சிவமும், நிலையில்லாததாகிய உடலும், அந்த நிலையில்லாத உடலுக்குள் நிலையாக நிற்கின்ற ஆன்மாவும் ஆகிய இம்மூன்றையும் கண்டு உணர்ந்தும்,

Seeing and knowing these three, the permanent that is Sivam, the impermanent that is the body, and the soul that stands permanent within that impermanent body,

உலக அறிவும் அறியாமையும் ஒன்றாகச் சேர்ந்து விடாமல் அவற்றிலிருந்து விலகி இருந்தும்,

staying apart from worldly knowledge and ignorance without letting them merge as one,

சுத்த மாயை அசுத்த மாயை ஆகிய இரண்டிலும் மயங்கி விடாமல் உண்மை ஞானத்திலேயே நின்றும்,

standing firm in true knowledge without being deluded by either pure illusion or impure illusion,

எப்போதும் பரம்பொருளாகிய இறைவனின் அதி சுத்த நிலையில் இருப்பதே சைவர்களின் பேரன்பு ஆகும்.

abiding always in the utterly pure state of God, who is the Supreme, is itself the great love of the Saivas.

இறைவனை அடைவதற்குக் கற்க வேண்டிய கல்விகள் அனைத்தையும் கற்றுக்கொண்டு, அதன் மூலம் பெற்ற கலை அறிவின் மிகவும் உன்னதமான உச்ச நிலையில் உண்மையான யோகத்தை அறிந்துகொண்டு,

Learning all the learning that must be learned to reach God, and, at the highest peak of the art-knowledge gained thereby, coming to know true yoga,

அந்த அறிவிற்கு முதல் மூலமாக இருக்கின்ற ஞானத்தை அடைய வேண்டிய முறைகளை அறிந்துகொண்டு, அவற்றை முறைப்படி கடைப்பிடித்து அதன் மூலம் அந்த ஞானத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு,

coming to know the methods for reaching the wisdom that is the first, root ground of that knowledge, following those methods in due order and thereby gaining that wisdom,

தாம் சொல்லுகின்ற வாக்கில் சத்தியத்தின் தன்மையைக் கடைப்பிடித்து, தம்மிடம் இருக்கும் அழுக்குகளான மும்மலங்களும் நீங்கப்பெற்று, அனைத்திற்கும் மேலாக,

holding to truthfulness in the words they speak, becoming free of the three inborn stains that are the impurities within them, above all else,

தானாகவே இருக்கின்ற பரம்பொருளைத் தரிசித்து, அதைத் தமக்குள்ளேயே உணர்ந்திருப்பவர்களே சைவ சித்தாந்தர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.

beholding the self-existent Supreme, and realizing it within themselves: those alone are the Saiva Siddhantins.
