இறைவனை அடையும் உண்மையான வழிகளை உயிர்களுக்கு எடுத்துக்கூற இவ்வுலகத்திற்கு வந்த ஏழு நாதர்கள்,

Seven Nathars came into this world to set out for living beings the true ways of reaching God,

அந்த ஏழு நாதர்களில் முதலில் தோன்றியவன் திருமூலன் எனும் யான்.

and I, Thirumoolan, am the first to appear among them.

அந்த வழிகள் அனைத்தையும் ஒன்பது தந்திரங்களாகவும், அத்தந்திரங்களைச் சார்ந்த மூவாயிரம் பாடல்களாகவும் யான் வழங்கினேன்.

I set out all of those ways as nine tantirams, and as the three thousand verses belonging to those tantirams.

இறைவன் வழங்கிய அழகிய ஆகமங்களின் பொருளை அழகான தமிழ்ச் சொற்களில் வழங்கியருளியதே இந்தத் திருமந்திர மாலை.

Giving the meaning of the beautiful Agamas that God gave in beautiful Tamil words, this is the garland of the Thirumantiram.

திருவருளும் குருவருளும் கலந்து அருளும் காலாங்கர் (காலாங்கி நாதர்), அனைவரையும் தம்பால் ஈர்க்கவல்ல அகோரர்,

Kalangar, called Kalangi Nathar, who graciously blends his own grace with the guru's grace, and Agorar, who can draw everyone to himself,

நன்மைகளைத் தரும் திருமாளிகைத் தேவர், அனைத்திற்கும் தலைவனான நாதனைப் போற்றும் நாதாந்தர்,

Thirumaligai Devar, who grants good, and Nathanthar, who praises the Lord over all things,

புலன்களை வென்ற பரமானந்தர், போக தேவர் (போகர்),

Paramanandar, who conquered the senses, and Bhoga Devar, called Bhogar,

இறைவனை அடையும் வழிகளை வழங்கி மண்ணுலக உயிர்களைத் திகழச் செய்த திருமூலர், ஆகிய நாங்கள் ஏழு பேரும் இறைவனின் அருளால் என்றும் இறவா சூட்சும நிலை பெற்றவர்கள்.

and Thirumoolar, who gave the ways to reach God and made the beings of this earth flourish, we seven, by the grace of God, have each attained the subtle state that never dies.
