செல்கின்ற வாறறி சிவமுனி சித்தசன்வெல்கின்ற ஞானத்து மிக்கோர் முனிவராய்ப்பல்கின்ற தேவர் அசுரர் நரர்தம்பால்ஒல்கின்ற வான்வழி யூடுவந் தேனே.

நல் நெறிகளின் மூலம் இறைவனை அடையும் வழிகளை அறிந்து, சிவனை மனதுள் வைத்துத் துதித்த முனிவனாக நான் இருந்தேன். மனதை வெல்லக்கூடிய பேரறிவு ஞானத்தை மிகவும் பெற்ற முனிவராகவும் நான் இருந்தேன். பல்லாயிரக்கணக்கான தேவர்களும் அசுரர்களும் மனிதர்களும் மேலுலகம் செல்லும் வழியே, நுண்ணிய (சூட்சும) வானத்தின் வழியே யானும் புகுந்து இந்தப் பூமியை நோக்கி வந்தேன்.
I lived as a sage who knew the ways of reaching God through the good paths, and who held Shiva in his heart and praised him. I had also gained, in full, the supreme wisdom that conquers the mind. Along the very path by which countless gods, asuras and human beings travel to the upper worlds, I too entered that subtle sky, and came down toward this earth.
