யாம் தவத்தில் இருக்க முடிந்ததின் காரணத்தைக் கேட்டுக்கொள், இந்திரனே. அனைத்துவிதச் செல்வங்களையும் கொண்ட, உலகங்கள் அனைத்திற்கும் தலைவனாகிய இறைவன், எளிதில் செய்யமுடியாத அரிய தவம் செய்பவர்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கும் அவனுடைய திருவடிகளை நான் தொழுதபோது, எம் பக்தியைக் கண்டு கருணை கொண்டு என்னுடனேயே அவனும் வந்து இருந்ததால்தான், என்னால் ஒரு கோடி யுகம் இருக்க முடிந்தது.
Hear the reason I was able to remain in penance, O Indra. God, lord of all the worlds and possessor of every kind of wealth, whose feet come only to those rare few who achieve penance that is not easily accomplished, when I worshipped those feet, he was moved by my devotion, and out of his compassion came and remained with me himself. It was because of this alone that I was able to remain there for a whole crore of ages.
