குருநாதராகிய நந்தியின் அருளினால்தான் யாம் 'நாதர்' என்ற பெயர் பெற்றோம். நந்தியின் அருளினால்தான், இறந்து கிடந்த இடையனாகிய மூலனைக் கண்டு அழுதுகொண்டிருந்த பசுக்களின்மேல் இரக்கம் கொண்டு, அவனின் உடலில் யாம் புகுந்தோம். நந்தியின் அருள் இல்லாவிட்டால் இந்த நாட்டில் என்ன செய்துவிட முடியும்? நந்தியின் அருளினால்தான், அவர் காட்டிய வழியின்படியே நானும் இருந்தேன்.
It was only by the grace of Nandi, our guru, that we came to bear the name Nathar. It was only by Nandi's grace that, moved by compassion for the cows weeping over Moolan, the cowherd who lay dead, we entered his body. Without Nandi's grace, what could be accomplished in this land? It was only by Nandi's grace that I too have remained here, following the very path he showed.
