மும்மலங்கள் உயிர்களைவிட்டு விலகுகின்ற முறையையும், அவை உயிர்களைக் கட்டிப்போடும் முறையையும், பந்தபாசத்தால் பிறந்த இவ்வுடலைவிட்டு உயிர் பிரிந்து போகும் முறையையும், இன்னும் பலவற்றை ஆகமங்கள் கூறுகின்றன. தமிழ் மொழியிலும் சமஸ்கிருத மொழியிலும் ஆகமங்கள் கூறி உணர்த்தும் ஒரே உண்மை, இறைவன் வழங்கிய ஆகமங்களை அவன் அருளாலேயே ஞானம் பெற்று உணர வேண்டும் என்பதே.
The Agamas speak of how the three malams loosen their hold on beings, of how they bind beings, of how the soul departs from this body born of worldly bondage, and of much more besides. In both Tamil and Sanskrit, the one truth that the Agamas declare and make known is this: the Agamas that God gave can only be understood by receiving wisdom through his own grace.
