மழைக்காலம், கோடைக்காலம், பனி பெய்யும் குளிர்காலம் என எல்லாக் காலமும் ஏரிகளெல்லாம் நீர் வற்றும். அனைத்தும் யுகங்களின் முடிவான ஊழிக்காலத்தில் அழியும். ஆரிய மொழியாகிய சமஸ்கிருதத்திலும் தமிழிலும் வேதங்களையும் ஆகமங்களையும், புதுயுகத்தில் பிறக்கும் உயிர்களின் தாயான உமாதேவிக்கு உடனே வழங்கி, இறைவன் மாபெரும் கருணை செய்தான்.
Through the rainy season, the summer, and the season of falling frost, in every season, the lakes run dry. And in the end, at the great dissolution that closes the ages, everything perishes.
