சிவனைத் தவிர, பிறப்பு இறப்பு இல்லாத அமரர் யாருமே இல்லை. சிவனை நோக்கிச் செய்யப்படும் தவத்தை விடச் சிறந்த தவம் வேறில்லை. படைத்தல், காத்தல், அழித்தல் ஆகிய தொழில்களைச் செய்யும் தேவர்களால் கூட, சிவனுடைய அருள் இல்லாமல் எதுவும் செய்ய இயலாது. சிவனில்லாமல் முக்தி அடையும் வேறு எந்த வழியும் எனக்குத் தெரியாது.
Apart from Shiva, there is no immortal being who is free from birth and death. There is no austerity greater than austerity directed toward Shiva. Even the gods who carry out creation, preservation and dissolution can do nothing without Shiva's grace. I know no other way to reach liberation apart from Shiva.
