Do not say, out of ignorance, that God does not exist, this same Lord who holds all power, who is lord over fire, who wears the hide of the wild elephant as his garment, who commanded the three defilements to stand still so they would not harm his devotees, and who gives justice equally to every living being. From the gods of heaven to every living being, he grants his grace without break, night and day.

God holds all power. He is lord over every kind of fire: the kundalini fire, the jataragni that digests food, the vadabagni that keeps the sea from crossing its shore, the earth's own central fire that governs the world's heat and cold, and the fire that bursts out as a volcano. It is in the muladhara, where the kundalini fire resides, that a being's good karmas lie. The three defilements, egoism, karma and maya, hold those good karmas down with the weight of an elephant, so they cannot easily be resolved. For devotees who worship him with true devotion, wishing to leave this birth and reach him, God raises up the good karmas that help toward liberation: he wears these elephant-like three defilements as a garment at his own waist, commands them, "stand still, do not block your devotees' path to liberation," and so protects his devotees from the disease of rebirth. Do not say, out of ignorance, that such a just and deeply compassionate God does not exist. He continues, without break, night and day, to grant his grace to every being who comes seeking him.
