குபேரன் இறைவன் மேல் கொண்ட தீராத பக்தியால் அவரை நோக்கிச் செய்த நிறைவான தவத்தைக் கண்டு மகிழ்ந்த இறைவன், அவனை உலகின் செல்வங்கள் அனைத்திற்கும் தலைவனாக்கினான். வடக்குத் திசையிலுள்ள அழகாபுரியே உன் ஊர், நீ அதற்கு அரசன் என்றும், தன்னை நாடி வருபவர்களைச் சொந்தக்காரரைப் போல ஆதரித்து அவர்களுக்கு வேண்டிய செல்வம் வழங்குமாறும் அந்தப் பெருங்கருணையாளன் அருளினான்.
உலகப் பற்றுக்களில் விருப்பம் வையாமல், இறைவன் மேல் தீராத அன்புடன் அவனை எண்ணி வடதிசை நோக்கித் தியானித்தால் (இங்கு வடதிசை என்பது ஏழாவது சக்கரமான சகஸ்ரரதளத்தைக் குறிக்கும்), அளவிட முடியாத செல்வங்களை, அதாவது உலகச் செல்வங்களையும் தாண்டிய சித்திகளையும் முக்தியையும், இறைவன் வழங்கி, அச்செல்வங்கள் அனைத்திற்கும் நம்மைத் தலைவனாக்குவான்.
Kubera's unwavering devotion to God, and the complete austerity he performed directed at him, pleased God, who made Kubera lord over all the wealth of the world. God declared that Alagapuri, in the north, would be his city and that he would be its king, and told him to support all who come seeking him as his own kin, granting them whatever wealth they need. This is our Lord's great compassion.
If, without desiring worldly attachments, one meditates on God with unwavering love, facing the north, here the north stands for the Sahasrara, the seventh chakra, the crown of the Sushumna nadi, God grants immeasurable wealth, meaning the siddhis and liberation that lie beyond worldly riches, and makes that person lord over all of it.

It is this same Lord, if meditated on without worldly attachment, facing north, meaning the Sahasrara, the seventh chakra, who grants the siddhis and liberation, and makes the one who meditates their lord.
