இறைவனின் திருக்கோலத்தை அடியவர்களும் இறப்பில்லாத தேவர்களும் சூழ்ந்து நிற்க, பால் போன்ற வெண்ணீறு அணிந்த அவனின் திருவுடலைப் பணிந்து அடியவனாகிய யான் தொழுது நின்றேன். 'காக்கும் தொழிலைச் செய்யும் திருமாலுக்கும், படைக்கும் தொழிலைச் செய்யும் பிரம்மனுக்கும் நீ சரிசமமானவன்' என்று இறைவன் எமக்குக் கூறினான். 'ஆகையால் உலகத்திற்குச் சென்று எமது திருவடியின் திருவருளை அனைவருக்கும் வழங்கிடுக' என்று அருளினான்.
பிரம்மனும் திருமாலும் ஒரு சமயத்தில் ஆன்மாக்களாக இருந்து செய்த மாதவங்களாலேயே இறைவனிடமிருந்து படைக்கும் தொழிலையும் காக்கும் தொழிலையும் பெரும் பேறாகப் பெற்றார்கள். எனவே, மாதவம் செய்த இறைவனின் அடியவர்கள் அவர்களுக்குச் சரிசமமானவர்களே. அதனால், உலகில் இறைவனின் திருவடியைப் போற்றி அதன் பயனை மற்றவர்களுக்கும் அருளும் மாதவம் செய்த சிவனடியார்கள் அனைவருமே பிரம்மனுக்கும் திருமாலுக்கும் சரிசமமானவர்கள்.
While countless devotees and the undying gods stood surrounding God's own sacred form, and I, his servant, stood bowing and worshipping his sacred body adorned with ash white as milk, God told me, "You are the equal of Thirumal, who performs the work of preservation, and of Brahma, who performs the work of creation." "Go therefore into the world," he said in grace, "and grant everyone the grace of our own holy feet."
It was purely through the great penance they performed while they themselves were once souls that Brahma and Thirumal came to receive from God, as a great blessing, the work of creation and the work of preservation. And so, devotees of God who have performed the same great penance are the equals of these two. Therefore, all Shiva devotees who have performed such great penance, who honour God's holy feet in this world and grant its fruit to others too, are the equals of both Brahma and Thirumal.
