சிவபெருமானே அனைத்தின் முதல்வனாய், படைத்தலில் பிரம்மன், காத்தலில் திருமால், அழித்தலில் உருத்திரன் என மூவராகவும், அருளலில் மகேசுவரன், மறைத்தலில் சதாசிவன் என்று சேர்ந்து ஐந்து பேராகவும் நின்று, சக்திமயங்கள் அனைத்திலும் ஒன்றோடொன்று கலந்திருக்கிறார். இவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் மூலமாகிய பரம்பொருள் சதாசிவமூர்த்தியே, ஒளியும் ஒலியுமாய் (விந்துவும் நாதமும்) ஓங்கி நிற்கிறார். பரவெளியில் அனைத்திற்கும் முதலாகிய சங்கரன் எனும் பெயரில் அவரே ஒருவராக இருக்கிறார்.
Sivaperuman himself, as the origin of all things, stands as the three, Brahma in creation, Thirumal in preservation, and Rudra in destruction, and, together with them, as Mahesvara in bestowing grace and Sadasivan in concealment, making five, remaining mingled, one within another, in all the power-filled centres. That very Sadasivamurthy, the supreme reality who is the root of all of these, rises as light and as sound, bindu and nada. And within that vast expanse, he stands as the one, under the name Sankaran, the origin of everything.
