உயிர்கள் அனைத்தும் இறைவனை உணர்ந்து வீடுபேறு அடைய வேண்டும் என்கின்ற அன்பினால், யாம் உயிர்களுக்கு வைத்த பேரின்பப் பரிசே திருமந்திரம் என்னும் நூலாகும். இந்த மூவாயிரம் பாடல்களில் யாம் வழங்கியிருப்பது முக்தி பெறும் வழிகளும், அதன் முடிவில் இறைவனோடு கலந்திருக்கும் பேரின்பமும் ஆகும். இறைவனின் அருளால் அறிவுப்பூர்வமாக இயற்றப்பெற்ற இந்த மூவாயிரம் பாடல்களும் அனைவருக்கும் பொதுவானவை. இவற்றைத் தமது சிந்தையில் வைத்து பொருளுணர்ந்து போற்றி வருபவர்களுக்கு அனைத்துவிதமான சிறப்புகளையும் இந்தத் திருமந்திரப் பாடல்கள் கொடுக்கும்.
Out of the love that wished every living being to know God and attain final liberation, the supreme gift I set out for beings is this book, the Thirumantiram. What I have given in these three thousand verses are the ways to attain liberation, and, at their conclusion, the supreme bliss of remaining merged with God. These three thousand verses, composed with wisdom through God's own grace, belong equally to everyone. To those who hold these in their thoughts, grasp their meaning, and continue to praise them, these songs of the Thirumantiram grant every kind of blessing.
