People clothe him in fragrant flowers, set before him food of the six tastes, praise and bow to him as the murthy who arose of himself, and perform puja day after day; and still no one comes to know the Lord, who is the greatest wealth there is to gain. The reason is that they are caught in worldly attachments and their devotion to the Lord is not whole. So if one wages war with a firm mind against the desires that lie in those worldly attachments, turns those desires into devotion, and keeps setting one's thoughts so that they run towards the Lord, then in time those thoughts will be left without any stain at all. And then that itself becomes the road that goes to liberation, the greatest quarter there is to reach.
