  ஐந்து புலன்களின் வழியே செல்லும் ஆசைகளில் சிக்கிச் சுழலாமல் அவற்றை மன உறுதியால் வென்று, உடனடியாகச் செய்ய வேண்டியது இறைவனுக்குத் தூப தீபங்கள் காட்டி வழிபடுவதே என்று சான்றோர்கள் சொன்னார்கள்.

  The wise said that instead of being caught and spun about in the desires that run out through the five senses, one should conquer them by firmness of mind, and that what must be done at once is to worship the Lord with incense and lamp.

  இறைவன் மேல் கொண்ட பக்தியில் தன்னையே மறந்து நின்று, தம் மனம் இறைவனோடு பொருந்தி இருக்கும்படி அவனுக்கான பூஜைகள் சிறிதும் தவறாமல் நிகழ வேண்டும்.

  Forgetting oneself in devotion to the Lord, one should stand with one's mind joined to him, so that the worship offered to him goes on without the least lapse.

  இறைவனோடு பொருந்தி நின்று, தூய்மையான நீரால் அபிஷேகம் செய்தும், காலைப் பனி பூத்திருக்கும் நறுமணம் மிக்க மலர்களால் அருச்சனை செய்தும் தொழுது வந்தால்,

  Standing so joined to him, if one performs the abhisheka with pure water and makes the archana with fragrant flowers still wearing the morning dew, and bows before him,

  இறையருளானது தினந்தோறும் அடியவர்களின் வினைகளை அழித்து நீக்கிவிடும் என்று முன் காலத்திலேயே சான்றோர்கள் சொல்லி இருக்கின்றார்கள்.

  then day after day the Lord's grace destroys and removes the deeds of the devotees; this the wise said long ago.
