O Lord who is chief of the immortals, out of desire we parted from you and were born into this world, and by maya we have forgotten you and stand caught in the pleasure that the ways of the world give. We pray that by your grace we may change from this state, and receive the grace by which, free of every kind of sin, we may steadily hold you in mind and praise you. With true love we come bearing fragrant flowers and pure water in our hands, and beseech you in your presence. Take pity on us and grant your grace.

Though we have come to a state of forgetting you through maya, and stand in this world seeking pleasure by the ways of the world,
we come bearing in our hands before you, with true love, the fine fragrant flowers and the pure water,
and pray that we may never again come to a state of forgetting you, but may hold you steadily in mind and praise you always,
and that free of every kind of sin we may receive your grace: this, O Lord who is chief of the immortals, is our prayer.
