  நல்லதை மட்டுமே நினைப்பது, உண்மையை மட்டுமே பேசுவது ஆகிய ஒழுக்கங்களைச் சரியாகக் கடைபிடிக்காமல் வேறு எந்தச் சாதகத்தைச் செய்தாலும் பயன் இல்லை.

  Whatever other practice one takes up is of no use without keeping rightly to the disciplines of thinking only what is good and speaking only what is true.

  அந்த ஒழுக்கங்கள் இல்லாமல், இசைக்கின்ற அழகிய சிலம்புகளை அணிந்த திருவடிகளை உடைய இறைவனைத் தரிசிப்பது அரிதான காரியம் ஆகும்.

  Without those disciplines, beholding the Lord whose sacred feet wear the ringing beautiful anklets is a rare and hard thing.

  அந்த ஒழுக்கங்களைக் கடைபிடித்து, அனைத்து உயிர்களுக்குள்ளும் இருக்கின்ற அதே இறைவனைத் தரிசிக்கும் வல்லமையை அருளால் பெற்றவர்கள்,

  Those who keep to those disciplines and by grace gain the power to behold that same Lord within every soul,

  தாம் தரிசித்த இறைவனை நேரிலேயே நறுமணம் கொண்ட அழகிய மலர்களாலும் தூய்மையான நீராலும் போற்றி வணங்கி வழிபடும் வல்லமையையும் பெறுவார்கள்.

  gain also the power to praise, bow to and worship the Lord they have beheld, in his very presence, with beautiful fragrant flowers and pure water.
