  எமக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பிறவியும், யாம் அனுபவிக்கின்ற மூன்று விதமான மலங்களாக இருப்பதும்,

  The birth that was given to me, and its being the three impurities I undergo,

  எம்மைப் பற்றிக் கொண்ட மாயையின் இருள் கூட்டம் என்று, எமது ஆசைகள் தீர்வதற்காக அவன் அருள் செய்தான்.

  and the gathered darkness of maya that had taken hold of me: all this he granted so that my desires might be spent.

  பின்பு அவனுடைய அருளால் அழியக் கூடிய அனைத்தையும் எம்மை விட்டு நீக்கிவிட்டு, தமது திருவடியை எமது தலைமேல் வைத்தருளினான் பெருமை மிக்க குருநாதனாகிய இறைவன்.

  Then, by his grace, he removed from me everything that can perish, and the God of great renown who is my guru set his sacred feet upon my head.

  அவனுடைய திருவடியின் அருளினால், இதுவரை யாம் அறிந்த உலக அறிவுகள் அனைத்தையும் விட்டுவிட்டு, அவனுடைய திருவடியை எமது தலைமேல் அணிந்து கொண்டு அதனோடு பொருந்தி இருந்தேன்.

  By the grace of those feet I let go of every worldly knowledge I had known until then, and wore his sacred feet upon my head and stayed joined to them.
