When waves of thought arise in the supreme being Sadasivam, who is unmoving power, a moving power comes forth from that stirring, and within it the five arts needed for the working of the world take their place: creation, preservation, destruction, concealment and grace. When the power that is light rises up from within it, Shiva who is sound takes his seat within that light. And within it are contained all the worlds with their moving and unmoving beings, and the ten directions that lie in them.
