  பிறக்கும்போதே உடலுக்குள் வைக்கப்பட்ட, இருளுக்குள் இருக்கின்ற ஆன்மாவையும், அதைக் கட்டி இருக்கின்ற மலங்களையும் நீக்கி வெளிச்சத்திற்கு மாற்றுவதற்கான வழிமுறையையும் இறைவன் வைத்து அருளி இருப்பதை உணராமல்,

  From birth itself God has placed within the body the soul that lies inside darkness, the impurities that bind it, and the discipline by which those are removed and the soul carried into light; and a disciple does not realize that this has been granted,

  அந்த வழிமுறைகளின் மூலம் பாசமாகிய கட்டுக்களை இல்லாமல் செய்து முக்தி நிலையைப் பெற்றவனாக ஆகாமல், தாம் செல்ல வேண்டிய வழிமுறையிலிருந்து மாறுதல் அடைந்து,

  does not use that discipline to undo the bonds of attachment and so become one who has attained release, and instead swerves from the discipline he was to walk,

  உலகப் பற்றுக்களுக்கான தத்துவங்களையே நினைத்துக்கொண்டு, இறைவனை அடைவதை மட்டுமே குறிக்கோளாக எடுத்துக்கொள்ளாமல், உலக ஆசைகளுக்கு ஏற்றபடியே நடந்து,

  dwells only on the principles of worldly attachment, does not take the reaching of God as his one goal, and walks according to worldly desires,

  உலக ஆசைகளில் மயங்கி இருக்கின்ற அந்தப் பக்குவமில்லாத சீடனுக்கு, உண்மையான ஞானத்தைக் குருவானவர்கள் கொடுக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

  To that unripe disciple, besotted with worldly desires, the gurus will not give true wisdom.
