  உயிர்கள் தங்களுடைய மனத்தினில் எழுகின்ற எண்ணங்களை மாயை மறைத்து இருப்பதால், அது ஒரு பொய்யான கண்ணாடியாக இருக்கின்றது.

  Because maya hides the thoughts that rise in the minds of living beings, the mind stands as a false mirror.

  அந்த மனத்தில் நினைத்துப் பார்க்கின்ற கற்பனையான எண்ணங்களின் நிழலைக் கூடக் காண முடியாதவர்களாக அவர்கள் இருக்கின்றார்கள்.

  They cannot see even the shadow of the imagined thoughts they turn over in that mind.

  தாங்கள் செய்கின்ற வினையின் பயன் தீர்ந்து போவதற்கான வழிமுறைகளை உபதேசித்தாலும், அதைக் கடைப்பிடித்துத் தங்களுடைய வினைகளைத் தீர்த்துக் கொண்டு மேல் நிலைக்குப் போகும் வழியில் செல்வதில்லை.

  Though the ways by which the fruit of the deeds they do may be exhausted are taught to them, they do not take those ways up and clear their deeds and go by the path that leads upward.

  கீழ் நிலைக்குச் செல்லும் தங்களுடைய ஆசைகளினால், மேலும் மேலும் பிறவிகள் எடுக்கின்ற வழியிலேயே செல்கிறார்கள்.

  Driven by their own desires, which lead downward, they go by the very path on which birth is taken again and again.
