False jnanis, who take what they themselves have picked up for wisdom and go about repeating it to others, are like the dog that stands below a body raised on the impaling stake and roams there barking, waiting for the flesh of that body to come to it; so they wait for gullible people to come their way. False jnanis, who take the fluency of their own voice for knowledge, are like the vultures that circle above the body raised on the stake, waiting to peck at its flesh; so they go about waiting for gullible people, to cheat them and snatch away and consume what they have. But true Sivajnanis, though the five senses and the body together go on doing each its own work, hold the power to subdue them as they please, and lie in any place at all like a dead corpse.
