  காதுகளில் அணிந்து இருக்கின்ற குண்டலங்களும், கழுத்தில் அணிந்து இருக்கின்ற நாக மணி மாலையும்,

  The earrings worn in the ears, and the garland of naga beads worn at the neck,

• வரி 2Line 2

  இயற்கையாகவே முதுமை பெற்று இறந்து கிடைத்த சங்கும், உயர்வான திருநீறு வைத்திருக்கும் பாத்திரமும், பிச்சை எடுக்கின்ற பாத்திரமாகிய திருவோடும்,

  the conch that came to hand having grown old and died of itself, the fine vessel in which sacred ash is kept, and the bowl for begging, the sacred bowl,

  குற்றம் இல்லாத பாதணிகளும், யோக முத்திரையும், அமர்ந்து இருக்கின்ற ஆசனமும்,

  flawless sandals, the yoga mudra, and the seat one sits upon,

  குற்றம் இல்லாத யோகக் காப்பும், தண்டமும் ஆகிய இந்த இரண்டு ஐந்து, அதாவது பத்து அடையாளங்களுமே உண்மையான தவசிகளுக்கான வேடமாகும்.

  the flawless yoga guard, and the staff: these twice five, that is these ten marks, are the garb of true ascetics.
