  உண்மையான தவசிகளைப் போலப் பொய்யாக வேடம் அணிந்து கொள்பவர்கள், சும்மா இருந்து மற்றவர்கள் தானமாகத் தருகின்ற உணவை வைத்துத் தமது பசியைத் தீர்த்துக் கொள்கின்ற பயனை எண்ணியே அப்படிச் செய்கின்றார்கள்.

  Those who put on a false garb, as though they were true ascetics, do so with just this benefit in mind: to sit idle and still their own hunger with the food that others give in charity.

  உண்மையான வேடத்தை அணிந்த தவசிகளோ, உயிர் வாழ்வதற்காக மட்டுமே உணவு யாசிக்கின்ற பிச்சை என்கின்ற மேன்மையான கொள்கையை மேற்கொண்டவர்கள் ஆவார்கள்.

  Ascetics who wear the true garb are those who have taken up the exalted principle of begging, asking for food only so as to stay alive.

  பொய்யான வேடமாக இருந்தாலும் உண்மையான வேடமாக இருந்தாலும், அவரவருடைய ஆசைகளுக்கோ கொள்கைகளுக்கோ ஏற்றபடி அதை அணிந்து கொண்டாலும்,

  Whether the garb be a false one or a true one, and though each may put it on according to his own desires or his own principles,

  இறைவனை அடைவதற்கு அந்த வேடம் பயன்படுவது, அதன் உள்ளே இருக்கின்ற உண்மையான தத்துவத்தை உணர்ந்து அறிந்து கொண்டவர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே ஆகும்.

  that garb serves for reaching God only for those who have realized and known the true principle that lies within it.
