  தவத்தில் மேன்மை நிலையை அடைகின்ற வழிமுறையும், அந்தத் தவத்தின் பலன்களை அனுபவிக்கின்ற வழிமுறையும் இதுவே.

  This is the way of reaching the high state in austerity, and the way of enjoying the fruits of that austerity.

  இளங்கன்று போல ஆசைகளின் வழியே துள்ளிக் குதிக்கின்ற மனத்தை, உடலாகிய கோணிப் பைக்குள்ளேயே புகுந்திருக்கும்படி வைத்து,

  The mind leaps along the paths of desire like a young calf, and it is to be kept inside the sack that is the body,

  ஆசைகள் இல்லாமல் இறைவனை மட்டுமே நினைக்கும்படிக் கட்டி வைக்க முடிந்தவர்களுக்கு, தமக்கு உள்ளே அடங்கியிருக்கின்ற அந்த மனது,

  and for those who can tie it there so that it is free of desire and thinks of God alone, that mind subdued within them

  மறுபடியும் ஆசைகள் பற்றுக்களின் வழியே இழுத்துக்கொண்டு போகாமல், தமது நெஞ்சத்திற்குள் இறைவன் இருக்கின்ற இடத்திலேயே அவனோடு சேர்ந்திருக்கும்.

  will no longer drag them off along the paths of desire and attachment, but will stay joined with God in the very place within their heart where he dwells.
