  உண்மை ஞானம் சித்தியாக வேண்டும் என்றால், அதற்குத் தவம் செய்ய வேண்டும்.

  If true wisdom is to be attained, austerity must be done for it.

• வரி 2Line 2

  உண்மை ஞானமும் சமாதி நிலையும் கைகூடப் பெற்றவர்களுக்குத் தவம் வேண்டியதில்லை.

  For those who have gained both true wisdom and the state of samadhi, austerity is not needed.

• வரி 3Line 3

  சகமார்க்கம், சன்மார்க்கம் ஆகிய மார்க்கங்களைக் கடைப்பிடிப்பவர்களுக்கும் தவம் வேண்டியதில்லை.

  For those who keep to the paths of sahamarga and sanmarga, austerity is not needed.

  மாற்றமே இல்லாத மேன்மையான சமாதி நிலையை அடைந்துவிட்டவர்களுக்கும் தவம் வேண்டியதில்லை.

  And for those who have reached the high state of samadhi in which there is no change at all, austerity is not needed either.
