  தியானத்தில் வீற்றிருந்து, தமது உடலை வருத்திக்கொண்டு, அருமையான தவத்தைச் செய்கின்ற தவசிகள்,

  The tapasvins who sit in meditation, wear down their own bodies and perform the rare tapas,

  பெருமை மிக்க தன்மையைக் கொண்டவர்கள் ஆவார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய தவ நிலையைக் கலைக்க வேண்டும் என்று சிலர் முயலலாம்.

  are people of a greatly noble nature; and some may try to break their state of tapas.

  அவர்கள் இருக்கின்ற இடத்திற்குத் தேவர்களின் தலைவனாகிய இந்திரனே வந்தாலும், அல்லது அவரை விட வலிமை பெற்ற யார் வந்து முயற்சி செய்தாலும்,

  Even if Indra, the chief of the gods, himself comes to the place where they are, or if anyone stronger than he comes and makes the attempt,

  எதனாலும் மாறாத, பண்பட்ட, மேன்மையான அவர்களுடைய சிந்தை சிவப் பரம்பொருளாகிய இறைவனுடைய மேல் மட்டுமே இருக்கும்.
