  துறவறத்தை மேற்கொள்ளுபவர்கள் கடைபிடிக்க வேண்டிய வழிமுறைகளைப் படைத்த இறைவனே, அவற்றைச் சரியாகக் கடைபிடிக்காதபோது அதை உணர்த்துவதற்குக் கடினமான முள்ளைப் போன்ற துன்பங்களையும் படைத்தான்.

  The same God who made the ways that those taking up renunciation must follow also made the hardships like a hard thorn, so that when those ways are not followed rightly this may be brought home to them.

  கடைபிடிக்க வேண்டிய வழிமுறைகளிலிருந்து சிறிது விலகி நடந்தாலும், அந்த முள் போன்ற துன்பங்கள் பாய்ந்து வழி தவறிச் செல்வதைச் சாதகருக்கு நினைவூட்டும்.

  If one strays even a little from the ways that must be followed, those hardships like a thorn pierce and remind the seeker that he has gone off the path.

  சிறிதளவும்கூடத் தாம் கடைபிடிக்க வேண்டிய வழிமுறைகளிலிருந்து விலகிவிடாமல் செயல்பட முடிந்தவர்களுக்கு,

  For those who are able to act without straying even slightly from the ways they must follow,

  அவர்கள் கடைபிடிக்கின்ற வழிமுறைகளில் ஒரு பொழுதும் கடினமான முள்கள் போன்ற துன்பங்கள் பாய்வது இருக்காது.

  hardships like hard thorns will never at any time pierce them upon the way they walk.
