உரைmeaning
தமக்குக் குருவாக அமைந்தவரே சிவப் பரம்பொருள் என்று கூறியருளினார் குருநாதராகிய இறைவன். ஆயினும், குருவாக இருப்பது சிவப் பரம்பொருளே என்பதைத் தமக்குள் சிந்தித்து ஆராய்ந்து அறிந்துகொள்ளாமல் பலர் இருக்கின்றார்கள். அவ்வாறு ஆராய்ந்து அறிந்துகொண்டால், தமது குருவே அன்பையும் அருளையும் கொடுக்கும் சிவப் பரம்பொருளாகவும், வழிகாட்டியும் தவறு செய்தால் தண்டிக்கும் தலைவனாகவும் நிற்கின்றதை அறிந்துகொள்ளலாம். அவ்வாறு அறிந்துகொண்டவர்களுக்குத் தமது குரு என்பவர், சொற்களால் விவரிக்க முடியாதவராகவும், ஐம்புல உணர்வினால் முழுமையாக உணர முடியாதவராகவும் இருக்கின்ற ஒரு இறைவனாக இருப்பார்.
God, who is himself the guru, declared that the one who has become one's guru is the supreme being Sivam. Yet many are those who do not think it over within themselves, examine it, and come to know that the one who stands as guru is Sivam itself. Should they examine it so and know it, they would find that their own guru stands both as the supreme being Sivam who gives love and grace, and as the lord who guides and who punishes when they go wrong. To those who have come to know it, the one who is their guru is a God who cannot be described in words and who cannot be wholly known by the awareness of the five senses.
