  அடியவர்கள் உலகத்தில் பார்க்கின்ற அனைத்தும் உண்மை என்று நினைக்கின்ற மாயையை நீக்கிப் பொய்யான உலக அறிவை அழிப்பதையும்,

  The removing of the illusion by which devotees think that all they see in the world is real, and the destroying of false worldly knowledge,

  பரம்பொருளாகிய உண்மையின் மேல் மன உறுதியுடன் சிவத்தோடு ஒன்றி இருக்க வைப்பதையும், தீமையை நெருங்க விடாமல் தடுக்கும் நல்ல பாதுகாப்பாக வலிமையுடன் நிற்பதையும்,

  the making of them stand with firmness of mind upon the truth that is the supreme being, joined with Sivam, and the standing strong as the good protection that keeps evil from coming near,

  ஆகிய இவை அனைத்தையும், உலக அறிவாகிய அறுபத்து நான்கு கலைகளால் சித்தம் மயங்கி வந்தவர்களால் அறிந்துகொள்ள முடியுமா?

  can all of this be known by those who have come with their minds bewildered by the sixty-four arts, which are worldly knowledge?

  தலைவனாகிய இறைவனின் திருவருள் இல்லாமல் இவற்றை யாரால் அறிந்துகொள்ள முடியும்? சிவகுருவாக வந்த இறைவனின் திருவருளாலேயே அடியவர்களால் அறிந்துகொள்ள முடியும்.

  Without the sacred grace of God who is the lord, by whom can these be known? Only by the sacred grace of God, who came as the Siva-guru, can devotees know them.
