  இறைவனிடமிருந்தே தாம் வந்திருக்கின்றோம் என்பதை அறிந்தவர்களின் அறிவோடு கூடி அழைக்கின்ற, பழமையான தலைவனாகிய இறைவன், ஒரு ஓடக்காரனும் படகுமாக வந்து,

  God, the ancient master who calls, joined with the understanding of those who have known that they came from God himself, comes as both the boatman and the boat,

  உடலுடன் சேர்ந்து பாரமாக இருக்கின்ற பற்றுக்களையும் கர்மங்களையும் அழித்து, பிறவி எனும் பெரும் கடலைக் கடக்க உதவுகின்றான்.

  and destroys the attachments and the karmas that lie heavy along with the body, helping them cross the great sea that is birth.

  இந்த வழிமுறையைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டும், கொடுமையான வினைகளைக் கொண்டிருப்பதால் அதை உணராமல் இருப்பவர்களும் உள்ளனர்.

  Even having come to know this way, there are people who, because they carry cruel deeds, do not realize it.

  அவர்கள், பிறவியைக் கடப்பதற்காக இறைவனின் செம்மையான திருவடிகளைத் தாங்களாகவே நினைக்காமல் இருக்கின்றார்கள்.
