மலங்களை மட்டுமே அறிந்துகொண்டவர்கள், தம்முடன் துணையாகவே நிற்கின்ற இறைவனைப் பற்றிய நினைவே இல்லாதவர்களாக இருக்கின்றார்கள். உலக அறிவை மட்டுமே அறிந்துகொண்டவர்கள் அதற்குள்ளேயே விழுந்து கிடந்து, அதன் பயன்களைத் தாங்களே அனுபவித்துக்கொண்டு இருப்பார்கள். மாயை எனும் இருளால் அறிந்துகொள்ளக் கூடியதை மட்டுமே அறிந்துகொண்டவர்கள் வினைகளோடு கலந்து மீண்டும் மீண்டும் பிறவி எடுப்பார்கள். இறைவன் எனும் மேகத்தில் இருந்து ஆன்மா எனும் நீராகத் தாம் வந்திருக்கின்றோம் என்பதை உணர்ந்துகொண்டவர்களுக்கு, நீண்ட மாபெரும் மேகத்தைப் போல அருளை மழையாகப் பொழிபவனாக இறைவன் இருக்கின்றான்.
Those who have come to know only the impurities are people in whom there is no remembrance at all of God, who stands as their very companion. Those who have come to know only the knowledge of the world fall into it and lie there, themselves consuming its fruits. Those who have come to know only what can be known by the darkness that is maya mingle with their deeds and take birth again and again. But for those who have realized that they have come as the water that is the soul out of the cloud that is God, God stands as one who pours down grace as rain, like a long and mighty cloud.
