  தாங்கள் செல்ல வேண்டிய வழிமுறையைக் கண்டுகொண்டு, அதிலேயே சிறிதும் மாறாமல் சென்று, சிவம் என்கின்ற பரம்பொருளைப் பெற்று அடைந்தார்கள்.

  found the discipline they were to walk, went along it without deviating in the least, and obtained and reached the Supreme called Sivam.

  ஆனால், அவர்கள் சென்ற வழிமுறையை அறியாத மற்றவர்களோ, தமக்குப் பின்னாலும் முன்னாலும் இருக்கின்ற வழிமுறைகள் என்று பலவாறாகத் தேடி அலைந்து, எந்த வழியையும் நிலையாகக் கடைப்பிடிக்காததால், அனைத்திற்கும் முதல்வனாகிய இறைவனின் திருவருள் இல்லாதவர்களாக ஆகிவிடுகிறார்கள்.

  But the others, who do not know the discipline those walked, wander in search of many things, calling them the disciplines that lie behind them and before them, and because they never hold steadily to any one way, they become people without the sacred grace of God, who is the first of all.

  அமரர்களும் முனிவர்களும் சென்று அடைந்த வழிமுறையில் செல்லாமல், எந்த வழியில் சென்று அடைவது என்று அறியாத மாயையில் திகைத்துக்கொண்டே அவர்கள் அலைகின்றார்கள்.

  Not going along the discipline the immortals and the sages went and reached, they wander on, bewildered in an illusion in which they do not know by which way one is to go and arrive.
