  இறைவனை அடைவதற்காக என்று சொல்லப்படுகின்ற நூற்றுக்கணக்கான வழிமுறைகள் இருக்கின்றன; ஆதலால், அவற்றில் அவரவர்க்கு ஏற்றதை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு கடைப்பிடிக்கும்போது,

  There are hundreds of ways spoken of as being for reaching God; and so, when each takes up the one that suits him and follows it,

  இறைவனை அடைவதற்கான ஆறு விதமான வழிமுறைகளுக்கு உள்ளேயே அந்த நூற்றுக்கணக்கான வழிமுறைகளும் அடங்கிவிடும்.

  all those hundreds of ways come within the six kinds of way for reaching God.

  இப்படி ஆறு பிரிவுகளாக இருக்கின்ற வழிமுறைகள் அனைத்தும், தாம் எடுத்துக்கொண்ட வழிமுறையிலேயே நின்றுவிடாமல்,

  Beyond all the ways that stand thus in six divisions, and beyond stopping at whichever way one has taken up,

  ஒவ்வொரு வழிமுறையிலும் பக்குவம் பெற்று அடைகின்ற மிகவும் மேன்மையான நிலையாகிய, பரம்பொருளைச் சென்று அடைகின்ற முக்திக்கான வழிமுறை ஒன்று இருக்கின்றது; ஆனால், அதில் நின்று இறைவனை அடையாமல், வெறும் உலக ஆசைகளுக்காகச் செய்யப்படுகின்ற வழிமுறைகளிலேயே அவர்கள் நிற்கின்றார்கள்.

  there is one way to liberation, the way of going and reaching the Supreme, which is that greatly exalted state attained by ripening in each way; but they do not stand in it and reach God, and stand only in the ways performed merely for worldly desires.
