உரைmeaning
சிவம் என்று அறியப்படுகின்ற பரம்பொருளைத் தவிர வேறு பரம்பொருள் எதுவும் இல்லை; இறை என்று அறியப்படுவது சிவப் பரம்பொருளே ஆகும். இந்த உலகத்தில் இறைவனை அடைய வேண்டும் என்று உறுதியாகச் செயல்படுபவர்களுக்குத் தவம் என்கின்ற உயர்ந்த நிலையைத் தவிர வேறு உயர்ந்த நிலை எதுவும் இல்லை. ஆனால், ஆறு விதமான வழிமுறைகளையும் ஆசைகளுக்காகப் புற வழிபாடாகச் செய்பவர்களுக்கு, இந்த உலகத்தில் பயனில்லாததைத் தவிர வேறு எதுவும் இல்லை. அதனால், தவத்திற்கு உறுதியாக நிற்கின்ற குருநாதனாகிய இறைவனின் திருவடியைச் சரணடைந்து மேன்மை நிலையை அடையாமல் இருக்கின்றீர்களே.
There is no Supreme other than the Supreme known as Sivam; what is known as God is the Siva-Supreme itself. In this world, for those who act firmly with the resolve to reach God, there is no exalted state other than the exalted state called austerity. But for those who perform the six kinds of way as outward worship for the sake of their desires, there is nothing in this world other than the fruitless. And so you remain without surrendering at the sacred feet of God, the guru-lord who stands firm for austerity, and without reaching the exalted state.
