  இறைவனுடன் எப்போதும் சேர்ந்தே இருக்கின்ற நிலையானது, இறைவனுடன் இலயித்து இருக்கின்ற ஆழ் நிலையில் மூழ்கி இருந்தாலும் நினைவு உலகத்திலும் விழிப்பு நிலையில் இருப்பது; அதுவே சாலோகம் எனும் முதல் நிலை ஆகும்.

  The state of being always joined with God is this: though sunk in the deep state of merging with God, to remain awake in the waking world as well; that itself is the first state, called Salokam.

  இந்த நிலைக்கு உதவுகின்ற பேரமைதி எனும் நிலையிலேயே தங்கி இருப்பது சாமீபம் எனும் இரண்டாம் நிலை ஆகும்.

  To abide in the great stillness that supports this state is the second state, called Samipam.

  இந்த நிலையில் தாமே சிவமாக ஆகி, இறைவனின் எல்லை இல்லாத ஒளி உருவத்தைப் பெற்று இருப்பது சாரூபம் எனும் மூன்றாவது நிலை ஆகும்.

  In that state, to become Sivam oneself and to hold the boundless luminous form of God is the third state, called Sarupam.

  அந்த நிலையில் மனதிற்குள் இறைவனின் பேரின்பத்தில் மூழ்கி இருந்து, அவனின் அளவில்லாத சக்தியை அனுபவித்துக்கொண்டே இருப்பது சாயுச்சியம் எனும் நான்காம் நிலை ஆகும்.

  And in that state, to be sunk within the mind in the supreme bliss of God and to go on experiencing his measureless power is the fourth state, called Sayujjiyam.
