உரைmeaning
'ஔ' 'சௌ' என்னும் எழுத்துக்கள் இறைவன் இருக்கும் மந்திரமாகும். இவை இரண்டையும் சேர்த்து உச்சரித்தால் 'ஹௌ' என்னும் எழுத்தாகி, அதன் உச்சரிப்பால் 'ஹ' என்று ஆகி, அதனோடு 'ம்' என்னும் எழுத்தைச் சேர்த்து உச்சரித்தால் 'ஹம்' என்னும் மந்திரமாக மாறிவிடும். அதேபோல் 'செள' எழுத்தோடு 'ம்' என்னும் எழுத்தைச் சேர்த்து உச்சரித்தால் 'செளம்' என்னும் மந்திரமாக மாறிவிடும். இந்த இரண்டு மந்திரங்களையும் சேர்த்தால் 'அம்சம்' என்னும் மந்திரமாக இருக்கும். இந்த மந்திரத்தின் அருமையை யாரும் அறியவில்லை. இந்த மந்திரத்தின் அருமையை அறிந்தவர்கள், அந்த மந்திரத்தில் மூலப் பரம்பொருளாகிய சதாசிவமூர்த்தி இருப்பதை அறியலாம்.
The letters au and sau form the mantra in which God dwells. If these two are uttered together they become the letter hau, and by that utterance become ha; and if the letter m is joined and uttered with it, it becomes the mantra ham. In the same way, if the letter m is joined and uttered with sau, it becomes the mantra saum. If these two mantras are joined together, it becomes the mantra hamsam. No one knows the greatness of this mantra. Those who know the greatness of this mantra can know that Sadasiva Murti, the primal supreme reality, dwells within that mantra.
