ஆனந்தத்தை அறிவிக்கும் இரு எழுத்துக்கள் சேர்ந்து, சிவம் என்னும் ஒரு எழுத்தும் சேரும்போது உருவாகும் சிவாய என்னும் மூன்றெழுத்து, ஆன்மாக்களுக்கு ஆனந்தத்தை வழங்குகின்றது; இதை அறிபவர் மிகச் சிலரே. இவற்றை அறிந்துகொள்பவர்களுக்கு, சிவன் ஆனந்தக் கூத்தனாய் இருப்பதும், அவனுடைய ஆனந்தக் கூத்தும் தானாகவே அறிந்துகொள்ளக் கிடைத்துவிடும்.
The three-lettered sivaya, formed when the two letters that convey knowledge join with the one letter that is Sivam, grants bliss to souls; very few know this. To those who come to know it, the knowledge that Siva is the blissful dancer, and of his own blissful dance, comes to them of itself.
