முந்தைய பாடலில் உள்ளபடி உலகத்திலுள்ள அனைவருக்கும் பொதுவான இறை சக்தி வீற்றிருக்கும் தென்நாட்டுச் சிதம்பரத்திலுள்ள பொன்னம்பலம், இறைவனின் ஐந்து வகையான திருக்கூத்துக்களைக் காட்டி நிற்கின்றது. அவை: அண்ட சராசரங்களில் இருக்கும் அனைத்து உயிர்களையும் படைக்கின்ற அற்புத தாண்டவம், அந்த உயிர்களுள் உண்மை ஞானம் பெற்றவருக்குப் பேரின்பம் அளிக்கும் ஆனந்த தாண்டவம், அனைத்து உயிர்களின் வாழ்க்கை முழுவதும் அவற்றைத் தாங்கிக்கொண்டு மூச்சாய் உயிராய் இயங்குகின்ற அனவரத தாண்டவம், அவற்றின் விதி முடியும்போது உலக வாழ்க்கையை அழித்து அருளுகின்ற சங்காரத் தாண்டவம், உலகங்களையும் அதிலிருக்கும் உயிர்களையும் முற்றாக அழித்துத் தம்மோடு மீண்டும் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளும் ஊழிக்காலப் பிரளயத் தாண்டவம் ஆகிய பெருமை வாய்ந்த ஐந்து தாண்டவங்களே.
As in the previous verse, the golden hall in Chidambaram in the southern land, where the divine power common to everyone in the world is enthroned, displays the Lord's five kinds of sacred dance. They are: the wondrous dance of creation that brings forth every being in the moving and unmoving universe; the dance of bliss that grants supreme joy to those among those beings who have gained true knowledge; the ceaseless dance that sustains every being's entire life, moving as their breath and their life itself; the destroying dance of dissolution that graciously destroys worldly life when a being's ordained time ends; and the dance of the great cosmic deluge that utterly destroys the worlds and the beings in them and gathers them back into himself. These are the five great dances.
