As in verse 1216, this verse declares that the Lord, the equal half of the Goddess who is Parasakti, herself the equal half of the Lord who bestows grace, has a crown of matted hair gleaming golden as though plaited of pure gold. Sharing a single heart with the Goddess, wholly one with her, he has ten strong shoulders that bear up all ten directions. With five sacred faces that draw devotees to him, and three sacred eyes on each of those five faces, he flays the wild elephant's hide and wears it wrapped as his garment, and, standing upon Muyalakan, performs the sacred dance as Nataraja, the equal half of the Goddess.
