  பிரத்தியாகாரத்தின் மூலம் மிகவும் கடினத்துடன் மனதை ஒரு நிலைப்படுத்தி,

  Fixing the mind in one place through pratyahara, with great effort,

  கர்மாவினால் உண்டான உடலின் தொடக்கத்தையும் ஒளிமயமான ஆன்மாவின் அறிவையும் பிரித்துப் பார்க்கும் திறனை அடைந்து,

  gaining the ability to see apart the body's origin, which is made of karma, from the radiant knowledge of the soul,

  தனித்தனியாகப் பார்க்கும் பல இறை உருவங்களை மெல்ல மறந்து, அறிவு வடிவாகிய ஒரே இறைவனை உள்நோக்கிக் கரைத்து உணர்வதும்,

  slowly forgetting the many separate forms in which God is seen and, looking inward, dissolving into the sense of the one God who is knowledge itself,

  அந்த உணர்வால் வளர்ந்த அன்பினால் இறைவனை என்றும் மறவாமல் இருப்பதும் ஆகிய இவையே பிரத்தியாகாரத்தின் பெருமையாகும்.

  and, through the love that grows from that sensing, never forgetting God: these together are the greatness of pratyahara.
