உரைmeaning
நம் உடலின் மூக்குத் துவாரத்திலிருந்து அடிவயிறு வரை பன்னிரண்டு அங்குல அளவில் சென்று வரும் மூச்சுக்காற்று, உள்ளே வருவதும் வெளியே செல்வதுமாகிய இரண்டு செயல்களை மட்டுமே இடைவிடாமல் செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறது. இதைத் தன்னுள் வாழும் ஆன்மா அறியவில்லை. அந்த மூச்சின் இயக்கத்தை ஆன்மா அறிந்துகொள்ளும் நாள் வந்துவிட்டால், அதன் வருகையும் போக்குமாகிய அந்தப் பகலும் இரவும் ஓய்ந்துவிடும் என்கிறது பாடல்.
The breath that travels from the passage of the nose down to the lower belly, a stretch of twelve fingers'-breadth, does nothing else but this without pause, come in and go out. The soul that dwells within does not know this. The verse says that on the day the soul comes to know the movement of that breath, its coming and going, that day and that night of it, will cease.
