எவருக்கும் மனதளவிலும் தீங்கு நினைக்காதவன், பொய் கூறாதவன், களவு செய்யாதவன், எட்டு நற்குணங்களைக் கொண்டவன், நன்மை மட்டுமே நினைப்பவன், பணிவுடையவன், நீதி தவறாமல் செய்யவல்லான், பகிர்ந்து கொடுத்து உண்பவன், குற்றம் இல்லாதவன், கள்ளும் காமமும் இல்லாத தன்மையுடையவன், ஆகிய இவர்களே இயம ஒழுக்கத்தின் நடுவே நிற்பவர் ஆவார்கள்.
One who thinks no harm toward anyone even in the mind, who does not lie, who does not steal, who has the eight good qualities, who thinks only of good, who is humble, who is able to remain unfailingly just, who shares what he eats, who is faultless, and who is free of liquor and lust, such a one alone stands within the observance of yama.
