அறியாமையால் வரும் அகங்காரத்தினால் தேவர்களும் அசுரர்களும் சிவபெருமானுடன் பகைமை கொண்டு விரைவில் அழிந்துபோனார்கள். சிவபெருமானுடன் எந்த வகையான பகைமை கொண்டாலும் அவரை அடைய முடியாது; அது பொய்யான பகையாக இருந்தாலும் அதனால் வரும் தீமை ஒன்றுக்குப் பத்து மடங்காகப் பெருகி அழிக்கும்.
Through the pride born of ignorance, gods and asuras alike took up enmity toward Shiva and were quickly destroyed. No matter what kind of enmity one holds toward Shiva, he cannot be reached through it; even if that enmity is feigned, the harm that comes of it grows tenfold and destroys.
