ஆற்றரு நோய்மிக் கவனி மழையின்றிப்போற்றரு மன்னரும் போர்வலி குன்றுவர்கூற்றுதைத் தான்திருக் கோயில்க ளானவைசாற்றிய பூசைகள் தப்பிடில் தானே.

சிவபெருமானது திருக்கோயில்களில் அன்றாட வழிபாடுகள், சிறப்பு நாள் வழிபாடுகள் (பிரதோஷம், சிவராத்திரி) ஆகியவற்றை முறையாகச் செய்யாமல் விட்டாலோ, அல்லது ஆகமங்களில் சொல்லப்பட்ட முறை தவறி அக்கோவில்களில் ஏதேனும் தவறாகச் செய்தால், அந்த நாட்டில் தீர்க்க முடியாத நோய்கள் பரவும், மழை பெய்யாது, அந்த நாட்டை ஆளும் அரசன் பேரரசனாக இருந்தாலும் தனது எதிரிகளைப் போரில் வெல்லும் வலிமை குறைந்துபோய்த் தன் நாட்டையே இழப்பான்.
If the daily rites and the rites of special days such as pradosham and shivarathri in Shiva's temples are left undone, or if anything is done wrongly in those temples, straying from the order set out in the Agamas, incurable diseases will spread in that land, rain will not fall, and the king who rules that land, however great an emperor he may be, will lose the strength to defeat his enemies in war and will lose his very kingdom.
