  வினைப் பயனால் பிறவி எடுத்தபோது, கருவாக உருவான அந்த நேரத்திலிருந்தே யான் இறை நினைவைக் கைவிடாது பற்றிக்கொண்டேன்.

  From the very moment I took form as a seed at birth, brought about by the fruit of deeds, I held fast to the thought of God and never let it go.

  உயிர்கள் அனைத்துமாய் இருக்கும் உண்மை இறைவனின் திருவடிகளையே எனக்குள் தேடி,

  Seeking within myself the sacred feet of the true God who is all souls,

  கயிறுபோலப் பின்னிய சடையைத் தலையில் அணிந்த அவனது திருவுருவத்தை எனக்குள் கண்டு, அவனது திருவடிகளையே சரணடைந்தேன்.

  I beheld within me his sacred form, wearing on his head the matted locks twisted like rope, and I surrendered to those sacred feet alone.

  அதனால், நெய் ஊற்றி எரிக்கப்படும் உலக விளக்குகளைப் போலின்றி, நெய்யே இன்றித் தானாக ஒளிரும் விளக்காக இறைவன் எனக்குள் வந்து இருக்கின்றான் என்பதை உணர்ந்துகொண்டேன்.

  And so I came to realize that God has come and dwells within me, not like the lamps of this world that are lit by pouring in oil, but as a lamp that shines of itself, needing no oil at all.
